I am appealing a 30-day suspension issued to my Pokémon GO account following a rejection on a Little Free Library nomination. My Trainer Name is Regul8orJulez and I recently received a 30-day suspension from Pokémon GO. This was triggered by a recent wayfare nomination I submitted that originally was considered a “fake submission” but when I proved it was real, I was then told it’s because of an inaccurate location. They considered it as being too far away (it was about 60 meters away based on coordinate data) from the actual structure, which I understand now how it has to be placed exactly at the location and was a complete misunderstanding of the map criteria. I was not trying to create a fake stop or abuse the game.
This was an honest mistake on my part regarding pin placement, and I had absolutely no malicious intent to manipulate the map or create a fake location. The Little Free Library is completely real, open to the public, and an active part of our community.
Nomination Title: Free Little Library
True Coordinates of Library: 36.06596° N, 79.59255° W
I love participating in Wayfarer to add legitimate community features. Now that I understand how strict the precision rules are, I will ensure all future pins are dropped exactly on top of the physical object, regardless of surrounding stops. I kindly ask if the team can review the real-world validity of this object and consider lifting the 30-day game suspension. Especially in time for Global Go Fest with PokemonGo.Thank you for your time.
if I could have help with this as soon as possible I would be so grateful! I will attach pictures in comments
Out of curiosity, how close to a private residential home was the pin set?
I’m not sure exactly, but the pin was set in a common area nearby residences but there’s another spot for a different common space nearby so I didn’t think it was an issue
Yes I’m hoping admin will see it here and be able to help.
It really is the best course of action to appeal through the email (see above from @TjoeMi). This is the intended route for people to give feedback to staff. I recommend you explain how things happened honestly.
If this fails, folks have been able to post details in the forum. Often times people here can help to get a step by step understanding of what happened and can help give context to what is going on. Staff does read here and often will DM folks with additional details (if it is a Wayfarer issue).
I am one of multiple people who reported this fake/misplaced wayspot. It was clear from the image used, that the LFL could not have been where it was placed.
After it was removed, it appeared in game a second time. It was reported again in mid-May… and it was removed again.
Someone I personally know saw it in review for what may have been a third time recently. I assumed it was rejected.
I find it difficult to believe that misplacing this by 60 meters, pinning it next to a condo building instead of by the community pool where you say it is, was accidental. The location you give as the actual location is in an occupied cell.
The red pin is where you say it’s truly located. The gray pin to the SSW of it, is where it appeared in game twice.
Thank you for sharing this! So an LFL went live and was removed from game here twice, then was rejected when another submission of an LFL here came through? This does not sound like an accident now, and staff would not have shared these details with us.
I went there this morning and did find the LFL the OP posted above. It’s actually just to the NW of the pool area, north of the red pin. My photo is not suitable for sharing here as my reflection is in it.
The photo OP shared from his latest submission is also different from what was used when the LFL was removed in May. Since the current LFL was placed in May 2025, perhaps the earlier image is for a LFL that has since been replaced.
I only ever received a rejection once and then tried to appeal it because I genuinely didn’t know why it was rejected. They didn’t give a reason and it is a very real object in our community. I had no idea at the time that the pin had to be placed exactly on top or that it was the reason for rejection(I understand clearly now). The pin I tried to put it in is just another open community space. It is between some residences but there is a big open field. Which I had also submitted pictures for with it. I wasn’t intentionally trying to abuse the game at all. I just didn’t understand the rules.
Yes this is not the photo I submitted for the current nomination. That was a different location. The nomination I submitted was much more recent than that and in a different location.
I have appealed with what honestly happened. Thank you
When choosing the location of a wayspot, you have to choose a location at which the POI actually exists. For a sports field, you have a choice. For a LFL, you don’t. The wayspot goes where the LFL is.
You cannot choose to put the wayspot somewhere else that is more convenient, such as in an open public space or empty cell, just because you want it there. I’m fairly sure the wayspot submission process says that the location needs to be accurate.
