  • I am requesting the immediate removal of the “Liscard Post Office” Gym due to severe public safety hazards, direct interference with emergency service operations, and systematic violations of Niantic’s Terms of Service by the crowds it attracts.

The digital mechanics of this Gym consistently draw dense groups of players who completely block the narrow pedestrian pathway outside 12 Liscard Village. This behavior directly results in the following critical issues:

  1. Direct Obstruction of Emergency Services: Merseyside Police have implemented a permanent, active Public Dispersal Order for this specific zone to manage severe local crime, including recent stabbings and phone robberies. When emergency service vehicles and police units arrive to enforce this order or respond to live incidents, the player crowds physically obstruct the narrow thoroughfare and pavement. This density directly delays, blocks, and interferes with emergency responders trying to secure the area.

  2. Breach of Niantic Terms of Service & Safety Hazards: Due to the severe overcrowding on the small pathway, players are regularly forced to stand in the active road to interact with the Gym. This creates a severe, immediate physical hazard to both the players and passing traffic. This behavior directly breaches Section 4 (Conduct, General Prohibitions, and Intellectual Property Rights) of the Niantic Terms of Service, which strictly prohibits users from playing the game in a manner that creates a safety hazard, violates local laws, or infringes upon public safety.

  3. Loss of Pedestrian Accessibility:** Because players block the pavement and spill into the street, ordinary pedestrians and vulnerable members of the public are forced off the pavement and into the active roadway to bypass the gathering.

I mean Cmon this is ridiculous this is everyday as it is a gym so raids cause this and I’ve seen numerous emergency service vehicles unable to get past them

The presence of this Gym actively encourages players to gather in a legally designated police dispersal zone, causing them to violate Niantic’s own safety rules, endanger themselves in traffic, and directly undermine emergency response teams.

Either remove the wayspot or demote it to a pokestop

Hello again @RavagedZombie ,

Our games are meant to augment reality, not replace it. We do encourage our users to be safe and alert at all times, abide by local laws, and respect the locations they visit and people they meet during their exploration. We advise our players to review and follow the Trainer Guidelines at all times while playing Pokémon GO to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone!

As explained earlier, the Gym can be accessed from a publicly accessible location and therefore does not currently meet our criteria for removal.

While Niantic does encourage all players to abide by local laws, as stated in the game’s Terms of Service and as reiterated through in-game warnings and notifications, we ultimately cannot control or be responsible for how individual users elect to act or behave on their own volition. If players engage in unlawful behavior while playing Pokémon GO, we encourage you to work with local law enforcement to address the issue, as you would with other individuals in your community.

Best,

If its causing problems to the local businesses then the “Property Owner” (Niantic will need proof) can request the removal.

Or the easier process would be to have a word with the players suggesting that when there is a crowd the Gym will be able to be interacted with from the pedestrianised area…
