Wayspot Title: Purok 5 Barangay Sicat Marker

Country: Philippines
Hello Wayfarer Team,
I recently visited the location of “Purok 5 Barangay Sicat Marker” after noticing issues with the Wayspot placement. I submitted an in-game location report because the Wayspot does not appear to accurately represent the real-world location. The current pin appears to be within private residential property, and the placement makes it difficult for players to reasonably access.
Unfortunately, the report was rejected. Here’s a screenshot of the email I received:
Here’s a geotagged photo taken at the reported location showing the current conditions:
This leads me to believe the report may have been incorrectly reviewed. Based on my visit, I could not verify the existence of the reported marker, and its current placement also raises concerns.
I am posting here because the in-game report only allows a brief explanation and does not provide a way to attach supporting evidence. I hope a staff member can review this case manually. Thank you for your time.
Welcome to the forum @redstreak0004
The marker does actually exist, but it is in the wrong location. In this case, rather than requesting removal, you could use the support chat on the wayfarer website help page to request that the wayspot is moved to 14.0967160, 120.8821097 where the actual sign is located. This is visible on street view, so you might be able to request it without the need for any additional geotagged images:
They may still remove it anyway if they decide it doesn’t have safe pedestrian access (that’s their judgement call to make, not mine), but either way they should take some action on the wayspot as it clearly isn’t in the correct location.
I see. Do the staff really see posts like this? I’m wondering if this can be resolved by posting it in this community.
Staff read every post on the forum. They may not always reply, but they do read them all.
Location edits don’t typically get resolved on the forum, which is why I suggested using the support chat instead, as that is where location edits are meant to be requested when they can’t be done in game. You’ll usually get a decision and response from them within 48 hours.
Thanks for the appeal, @redstreak0004! We have already moved the referenced Wayspot to the correct location. You should see the changes reflected soon.
Yes, I noticed that, but it’s now in a more sensitive location. During the last GO Fest makeup event, players were blocking the way. It’s located on a bridge with no sidewalk, so it might be best to have it removed instead.
The onus is on players to act responsibly. What you are describing is poor player behaviour, not a poor wayspot.
Please review street view shared above by another member, that’s the exact place the gym is moved after the correction. There’s no existing path walk or a place to rest/stop. It’s literally just a road and bridge. Please note that this is a gym not a pokestop.
The wayspot is now in the right place. It is currently a gym with a pokestop in the same cell, so a revaluation of the wayspots used by Pokemon Go might take place within the next few days.
If you are bothered by the location of this gym, you should also be bothered by the location of the pokestop.
Agree. Doing one step at a time
