Appeal of Rejected Wayspot Removal – Electrical Utility Box

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title:塞在牆壁的電信箱

  • Location (lat/lon):25.0271550, 121.5691860

  • City:Taipei

  • Country:Taiwan

  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):

  • Additional Information (if any):This Wayspot is an electrical utility box used for power infrastructure.
Although the exterior has been painted, the object remains a functional utility installation rather than a designed piece of public art.
There is no artist attribution, informational signage, or cultural or historical context.
Its primary purpose is operational infrastructure maintenance, and it is not intended for exploration, social interaction, or exercise.
Therefore, it does not meet the criteria for a suitable AR interaction location under Wayfarer guidelines.

Welcome to the forum @Cookie888999

Whilst a utility box by itself would not meet criteria, a painted utility box can be eligible under the explore criteria, as it is the art on the box that meets that criteria.

In this case, rather than trying to get the wayspot removed, I would attempt to find out who painted it. If you can find that information, you can submit a description edit to make the wayspot a bit more informative.

Thank you for the clarification.
I understand that painted utility boxes may be considered under explore criteria.
I will leave this for Niantic staff to review based on the Wayfarer guidelines.

Thanks for the appeal, @Cookie888999! We took another look at the Wayspot in question and decided that it does not meet our criteria for removal at this time.
