Appeal Rejection on Hotel Fitness Center

I nominated the below fitness center at a hotel, and had it rejected in community voting for being on private property (which it is not), plus the “not culturally relevant” line that I guess comes from being marked as Generic Business (even though the nomination was for the fitness center, and not the hotel itself).

Title: Hampton Inn Fitness Center
(38.243579, -77.496765)

Description: The on-site fitness center at Hampton Inn Fredericksburg, featuring modern exercise equipment for strength training and cardio. This space supports health, wellness, and physical activity for hotel guests and visitors.

I appealed this as I’ve done other fitness centers this way without issue, and got this rejection message back:

This surprised me since the original community rejection had nothing to do with the location, and it sounds like they’re not saying it’s misplaced, just that they can’t prove that this hotel actually has a fitness center. It does, as can be seen on their website’s amenities list:

I cannot resubmit this as it was from an east coast road trip I was on, and it is now many states away from me, so I’d love to get one more look at this if possible.

Hello @Jigawatt27

this kind of thing is so frustrating especially when you nominate during a vacation!

Do you still have the email that confirmed the submission? If so, this includes the latitude/longitude coordinates. My only guess is that the pin moved away from the hotel somehow during your nomination.

It actually was pinned correctly (at 38.243579, -77.496765 - I had included that in my message up there) – and apparently, someone at Niantic already read this and agreed with me, because I’m now seeing it as accepted! :tada:

Yay I’m so pleased it was overturned :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
