Dear Niantic Wayfarer Team,
I am writing to appeal the status of my recently approved rural Wayspot. My nomination titled “গ্রামীণ উন্মুক্ত ঈদগাহ মেইন গেট” was successfully accepted by the community. However, instead of becoming a permanent PokéStop or Gym, it has mistakenly appeared in Pokémon GO only as a temporary Dynamax Power Spot.
I am a Level 48 trainer living in a remote rural area with a complete lack of in-game infrastructure. There are no active PokéStops or Gyms within walking distance for local players. This Eidgah Gate is a major social and religious landmark for our village, making it a safe and perfect location for a permanent in-game feature.
Locking this approved landmark as a temporary Power Spot means it will completely disappear once the timer ends, leaving our rural community with absolutely nothing. Since this location exists in its own separate, unoccupied S2 Cell and fully satisfies all criteria, it is perfectly eligible to become a Gym.
I sincerely request the team to manually review this case and permanently convert this approved Wayspot into a Gym so that rural trainers like us can continue playing the game. Thank you.
I am sorry but niantic never acknowledge s2 cells so what you ask may not happen. Wayfarer is used in multiple games and each games have its own inclusion rule.
If you are willing to leave general coordinate of your area there are some people who can try look around.
In the other hand, pokemon go have campsite program where local pogo community ambassador can submit additional pokestop/gym for their local community (subject to approval) . This process might take long time but it will benefit more in long run. I am not pogo CA so you need to ask your nearest Community Ambassador.
I’m not seeing anything at your coordinates, could you double check them in your submission email?
The way to get more gyms is by submitting more wayspots. There seem to be a lot of temples/shrines/places of worship around. Those make for great wayspots if they aren’t part of a single family home.
I see a pokestop next to it in your picture. It might be that the new submit became a power spot because it is in the same S2 cell (though I have not looked at the map). You can’t have multiple pokestops/gyms in the same cell, and excess approved points can become power spots under certain conditions. Could be what happened here.
If that is the case, adding a second pokestop in a different cell (but within the same L14 grid) should cause one of them to become a gym.
I’m not seeing anything at this location. Did you get the coordinates from your submission receipt email? Also, feel free to write in whatever language you’re comfortable in, the forum can auto-translate
I’ve noticed that you seem to be posting coordinates that only have 4 decimal places. I’m not sure how you’re sourcing these coordinates, but wayspots typically have coordinates 6 decimal places. Those extra two places really help pinpoint the location.
You can either get the coordinates from the email you received when you initially submitted the nomination (they’re in brackets below the pictures you used), or you can source them directly from the wayfarer map by finding the wayspot in question, tapping on it, and scrolling down to the location information section. There will be a button to copy the coordinates listed there.

I just looked over the original post and the screenshot again. The waypoint you mentioned does not appear to have the same title text as the Dynamax spot. (I can’t read the language, but the shape of the first word doesn’t appear to match).
As I mentioned before, there’s also a pokestop in your screenshot. Is it possible that the waypoint you are mentioning is actually not the Dynamax spot but instead is that pokestop?
I’ve had a look. What you’re experiencing is not an error.
There are three wayspots in this location: “গ্রামীণ উন্মুক্ত ঈদগাহ মেইন গেট” (which is the subject of this post), “বটতলা খেলার মাঠ” (which is the Pokéstop in your screenshot), and “গ্রামীণ উন্মুক্ত ঈদগাহ মেহরাব চত্বর” (which isn’t eligible to appear in Pokémon Go at all).
All three of these wayspots are in the same level 17 S2 Cell. Each level 17 S2 Cell can only contain a single Pokéstop or Gym, and as stated, “বটতলা খেলার মাঠ” is the Pokéstop for this level 17 S2 Cell. This means the other two wayspots I mentioned cannot become Pokéstops. You can read more about this here:
You can see that your nomination is eligible to be used as a Power Spot though, as whilst it is in an occupied level 17 S2 cell, it is at least 22 metres away from any Pokéstops or Gyms.
