Appeal to restore removed pokestops near me

Hi, recently a lot of Wayspots disapeard in our community, I would like to discuss their removal.
Since they are multiple, we may discuss each one separatly. But I will try to provide informations about each of them in this post.
There are at least seven of them, and I know some of them were “restored” by players via renominating the original structure, but I’m not sure wich ones, since I don’t visit some areas as regularly and I contact this forum to help my community wich is mainly non-english speakers.

  • Longeville, Jésus Doré
    Location: 49.113076, 6.651139
    Longeville-les-Saint-Avold
    France
This wayspot was there since 2019 at least, is on public property and the cross is still there.

  • Longeville, Cadran Solaire
    Location: 49.115656, 6.637267
    Longeville-les-Saint-Avold
    France
I tried renominating this one multiple times, the issue may be because of its location, in a narrow street that seems to be on private property. But the street is public and the location doesn’t even affect the neighborhood since anyone may interact with it without going into the dead end, and there are already a lot of pedestrian using this path to cross the block.

  • Calvaire dans la haie
    Location: 49.119042, 6.636891
    Longeville-les-Saint-Avold
    France
I tried renominating this one too, it is a small cross hidden in the corner of a boxwood edge. It seems to be on private property but is not: those crosses are known in our region to be public, and there are also electric boxes near some of them to use this privilege. Its location couldn’t bother the neighborhood since a lot of people walk their dogs in this area, and most wayspots users interacted with it without even stoping their walk.

  • Longeville, hommage Auguste Ballevre
    Location: 49.117798, 6.640842
    Longeville-les-Saint-Avold
    France
This one has been replaced by a new one since his deletion (another wayspot was in its cell and took over) I think someone try renominating it recently and it got approved but doesn’t show yet and probably won’t since it’s location is in the same cell as the "new one)

  • Longeville, plaque J.P. Ballevre
    Location: 49.117093, 6.641030
    Longeville-les-Saint-Avold
    France
This one was renominated, approved and reappeared earlier this week, so it is not an issue, but since almost all those stops were deleted at the same time, it may involve the same person reporting them without good reasons, or some other bug maybe worth investigating. I give those information only for this sake.

  • For the other wayspots involved I lack information, I asked my community for their location and title and if they are still missing. I will update you about them later.

I hope all of this is worth your time. I really wonder what made all those spots disappear almost at the same time, and I hope there isn’t one individual messing with those maliciously, even if it feels like it.

Thanks.

Hello and Welcome,

According to Street View this seems to have been removed by April 2025.

This does look to be on the boundary of a Single Family Private Residence Property (SFPRP). Criteria states this includes anything attached to the outer boundary (Wall, Fence etc).

This also seems to fall in to the SFPRP Boundary criteria.

There is nothing on the map at this location so unless it has only recently been accepted I don’t think it has. You are correct that this is an occupied cell but you any waypoints not used as Stops or Gyms may be used as Powerspots or replace the current waypoint if that has to be removed.

This one is shown on the map but the map has not had a full sync for a few days so you can only be 100% sure in game.

Unfortunately, these do seem to have been removed correctly with no malicious intent.

Good luck adding more “safer” waypoints in the future.

Yeah… The google car passed during restauration, you can see the stone where it is located, but I can assure you after the public work it was reinstalled. May I provide you with a photo from my phone ?

For the solar clock I can understand, it beaing on the wall.

For the cross in the edge this is irritating since the edge grew around it… it is not attached to the property and is installed on public space. the issue is the vegetation representing the limits of the property is invading public space and shifting perception.

I am just a player same as yourself, there is no need to prove anything to me but a current photo with GPS Co-Ords may help.

There was no wayspot at the co-ords you passed so I assume it was removed from the database so you may be able to re-nominate this one with new photo.

Good luck.

Unfortunately, if that hedge is the boundary marker then there is nothing that can be done. Even without the hedge you would have to show where local laws dictate the boundary. For me in the UK an hedge, wall, fence etc does usually denote the boundary but in some countries the boundary extends passed the sidewalk right up to the road / highway.

I had a similar issue with a POI that was missing when the StreetView car came back, I made a short YouTube video showing the object and surroundings while explaining about the temporarily missing POI.

Thanks for the appeal, @MimouneKrinn We have taken another look, but stand by our decision to retire the Wayspots in question.

I would like an explanation of this decision from you since apparently I had to expose why those wayspots where valid from my point of view, and after re-examinating criterias multiple times I must insist that those stops are Not on private property.

Tonight the 2 wayspots : Plaque J.P. Ballevre and another one : Salle Polyvalente (which appeared recently nearby) where deleted too. From our point of view, and I speak from our community, this feels like coordinated attacks without any real allegation and despite those wayspots respecting your own criteria.

The two Ballevre plaques are historical, in the public street, and even one of those where on a public building.
Salle Polyvalente is literally a public bal room accessible for anyone asking to organise events in our town
The cross in the bushes may be subject of debate since it is not on the pavement but just in the corner of a private property, I tend to stay on my ground and designate it as public, but if you insist I will further investigate with local documents and ask the major and the owner of the neighboring ground.
The solar clock, you were right, it is a private sculpture owned and installed by the owner of the building where it is visible.
The cross “Jésus Doré” has been proposed again today, with updated pics and it may appear again rapidly due to its nature. If is happens to disappear again after that, I would definitely make another ticket.
