Approved move >10M moved to the wrong spot

Has anyone had a pokestop move >10M approved only to be moved to the wrong location? It is closer to the correct location but still far off. This park had a few trail markers that were moved down the trail to be in a new cell and create a new stop/gym. It can be difficult to get photos of other landmarks to show its exact location, sometimes it is just a tree or fence line. I do try to recreate the photo used to create the stop and a geotagged photo taken up close as evidence. Should I try again or just move on?

I also want to say the team reviewing the move requests has been great and this is in no way a complaint on the job they are doing. Approving these moves for what is essentially a pin point in a map that are generally not visible by satellite due to tree cover is not an easy task.

I stated that the Wayspot should be moved to the west because the sun is in the west at 5 PM, but Niantic ended up moving it to the east.

The staff will consider all the evidence presented as well as external sources when making an edit correction. When I have provided ample evidence that the gps coordinates I have suggested are the correct ones to best represent the actual location, they usually put it there.

I would suggest trying again with geotagged photos from multiple angles, including one that is similar to the Wayspot photo if the real world location is still wrong.

(They won’t do location edits simply to put something in a better position for game play reasons, but this does not sound like what you are trying to do here.)

Lol, that’s not far off how you have to describe trail marker to get it moved.

Hello and Welcome @ParkGeonJi

When you apply for a location you are requesting it and suggesting a location.
as @cyndiepooh says the staff then examine what is provided and reach their on conclusion on location.

@elijustrying Thanks for the reply. Is the photo geotag taken into consideration? I used the coordinates from the photo that was taken closest to the trail marker and provided that photo as evidence. However, it was placed about 10 meters to the west of the actual trail marker (guessing the distance it was off from the wayfarer map). Do you think I should resubmit it add more photos of the current incorrect location and the correct one to better demonstrate the location?

Like I said before, reviewing waypoint moves is not an easy job and I am not upset with the approvers. I am more upset with the person who submitted the incorrect stops in the first place. It makes it harder to get the legit ones added.

Check the coordinates on the geotag.
Key in the coordinates and see if they are correct or where the team put it.
If you were too far away it will have your location.

I resubmitted my request with new evidence—an old Google Street View capture I made—and they relocated it once again. However, it is still slightly off from the actual location. Since Google Maps shows only dense forest and even local satellite imagery is only vaguely visible (due to being taken in winter), I can see why they are struggling. I’ve decided to put my request on hold until I can find more definitive evidence. I hope you get a great result with your request as well!

Thank you for your reply. I resubmitted the request and the location has been adjusted again. Although it’s still not the exact spot, I have decided to put my request on hold since I cannot provide any clearer evidence than what I have already submitted.

Thank you for your dedicated support as an Ambassador; I hope you continue to have great success with your own endeavors as well.

When I put the coordinates from the close up image in, the new location is approximately 20 meters away. I checked all the photos I submitted as evidence and the geotagged coordinates are all about the same distance away. I will hike out there this weekend and take some more photos to try to get the evidence to show the right spot.
