Bad Appeals Reviewing: "Third Party Text"

I recently had a description edit rejected for a church.

Original: Baptist church in Asheboro, NC.

Suggested Edit: Mt. Calvary Independent Baptist Church believes that the King James Bible (KJV) is the foundation of their belief. They do their best to welcome all visitors and have a family atmosphere in their services.

So, I decided to throw an appeal on this. The edit is clearly significantly different and of a higher quality. It better describes the wayspot and what explorers will find there.

Niantic’s appeal reviewers chose to reject the appeal:

“Thanks for the appeal, Explorer. I see that the text you have submitted is copied and pasted from third-party sources which makes your contribution ineligible. Please refer to our guidelines before making any further submissions: Rejection Criteria — Wayfarer Help Center”

No, the text is NOT copy and pasted from another source. Yes, I researched the church and wrote a good description for it.

I challenge anyone to find where I supposedly copied and pasted this text from. I have come to expect substandard reviewing from Niantic’s appeals reviewers. However I think it is bad form (to put it mildly) to say the text is a cut and paste job from a third party source, when one is unable to substantiate that accusation.

I can’t. and i voted to accept this edit.

Yes, I would have accepted this. I looked at the church’s website, and they mention some of this on their About Us page, but it’s not the exact same. You did take time to write something up based on this info, not copy it.

Thanks. It wasn’t hard but you found my source of information on the church. It’s not copied and pasted as you noticed.

In case people are unaware, only using the King James version of the Bible is an extremely significant fact, separating this from being just a Baptist church.

Just checked the Wayspot, and your description is now showing. Looks like the appeals decision was reversed.
