Hi. I’m looking for some opinions on a Wayspot appeal that has now been rejected multiple times by Niantic staff as a “generic fence” or “dead hedge”. The object is actually a purpose-built bird viewing screen within a nature reserve, constructed from woven natural materials to allow visitors to observe wildlife without disturbing it. It isn’t a boundary fence or habitat feature, it’s an intentional structure designed for wildlife observation. It is intentionally constructed from woven natural materials to allow visitors to observe wildlife while minimising disturbance to birds. Is there a better way to demonstrate its purpose in an appeal? I’m struggling to understand why it’s being assessed as a generic fence when its function is completely different. Unfortunately there are no signs or anything similar. Should I just give up on this one? It can’t get past the automatic rejection either. I’ve taken some up close, some further away, used different angles, but it seems to not make any difference!

If there is any website that describes this specific viewing structure, that would help a lot. Failing that, a website that describes this type of viewing structure, so that it can be shown that this is not just a fence.
I agree from your pictures that it isn’t just a fence, but without proof, I think this not going to happen.
after some digging, I found this on their Facebook page, but even if I do link it somehow, I’ve noticed that sometimes even providing links do not work as they potentially dont look into it.
If you use websubmit you can attach up to 5 supplementary images to support your submission. So including ones like the ones above plus the link will help in case things go wonky.
Their picture looks very much like a specific structure for bird watching . Perhaps you could get a similar one?
Bushes and other foliage have grown around it, but of course, can still view the lake and nature looking through the windows.
The first submission I did of this, I did take a similar photo head on, however it just wont get past the automatic rejection. I could try again and like you say - add the screenshots and link this time. (Hopefully that’ll do the trick, but I’m pessimistic!)

Crouching down so that you can angle the view upwards might allow for a picture where the structure shows up better.

It might be a case of waiting patiently for winter when the foliage will have died back. A nice cold clear frosty morning might do the trick.

Good idea! Didn’t think of that. Ill try not to get too much sky in the photo either else the auto reject will definitely pick that up.

Hopefully that’ll all work. If not, you’ll see this post for the 3rd time in December, with me begging for the appeal to be overturned. Lol!

You hopefully have lots of submission slots now. Take several different photos and submit multiple times, if you really want this! I would just put the extras on hold and only releasing them (one at a time) if the active one is rejected.
