Just had a Rejection for the following Bug Hotel.
Title: Normanton Church Bug Hotel
Description: A bug hotel built in the shape of Normanton Church that is located close by.
Supplemental Information: Excellent design for a bug hotel and a great place to explore the insects that live in the area.

Not local so was done on site through the app and admittedly in a bit of a rush.
The Rejection was “The photo submitted is of low quality. For example, the photo is blury, too dark, or taken from too far away”.
My theory was when the image is cropped for the image shown in the photo disc this would remove a lot of the vegetation.
Can’t re-submit as I am not local.
It would have been a Powerspot at best as it is in an occupied cell.
Once cropped as 1x1 Square.
Any opinions welcome…
I have to start reading titles instead of just the post. I do not have an opinion on how this would do in appeal. If I think I can improve the photo, I resubmit. If you can’t go back easily, I don’t think this photo is all that bad and might try the appeal.
Since I feel the appeal reviewers stick with the initial decision unless there is a blatant error, I suspect the appeal would not be successful. This is arguably a poor photo and it cannot be argued that it definitely is a good one.
Since this is too far to resubmit (Normanton being more than 10km away from you), if your photo is good enough quality to crop, I would crop it and submit a draft on the wayfarer map. Next time you are in Wakefield, you can then quickly submit it.
I would appeal this.
It is clear from the photo what the subject of the nomination is….yes it could be better but it is of the object and is clear.
It has information there about it.
If I had seen this in review I would have been voting favourably.
There’s nothing wrong with the picture, the rejection reason was incorrect. So yes I would also appeal
I like to crop pictures square so the PoI is centred, but it’s a nice to have not a necessity (stops things looking squished on postcards)
If you do appeal, it would be interesting to see the result. (I like this bug hotel!)

I am not a big numbers submitter so I am fine with “wasting” an Appeal so will give it a go and let you know.
I usually submit locally and use the website especially as my old phone made it a pain to submit in app but with a replacement phone I wanted to try a “straight from the app” (this bit worked great 
) and haven’t played enough with cropping in phone.
Wrong Normanton, this is at Rutland Waters so much further than Wakefield 
Oops! I know Normanton so just assumed.
Not to upset anyone from Wakefield but the one at Rutland just about clinches the “slightly nicer” award 
The appeal was Accepted 
I don’t even think I pushed it too hard just stated that the only reason that I saw for the Reject was the amount of Greenery on both sides but once the game crops them it would leave the main POI.
