It is well known that the community in this small town caused a region-wide scandal when local community “leaders” purchased Level 12 Ingress accounts back in 2018—at a time when waypoint submissions were restricted to Ingress—even though these players only played Pokémon GO.
The vast majority of POIs are in the wrong locations, having been submitted in bad faith to abuse the system.
Can anyone explain how they managed to fraudulently overpopulate so many S2 L17 cells and get away with it? Is there a way to report this?
Some fellow players reported a few falsely located wayspots, and Niantic moved them to their correct locations—which happen to fall within cells that are already occupied… Yet the waypoint didn’t disappear. Example:
Here, wayspot “Mural al Alfarero” and “Peña Madridista La Décima” were in a totally false location, even crossing roads from its true location. Both were reported days ago claiming false location. Both are now in their correct spots but inside an already populated cell, even 3 meters away from another wayspot. Coordinates are 37.772704,-1.492847.
Current state:
How is this possible? What im I missing?
