Can this green area a good wayspot?

Hi everyone,
two weeks ago i posted something about this street sign to understand if there was a chance to be a wayspot (ofc it wasn’t, ty for every messages):

Here’s my question: can this sign be eligible as the green area (which is the intention of this sign) and not the sign itself? Because every year here, this country does official cross-country running races and local running races.
Here’s the green area and where it exetends:

What you’re talking about using the sign to anchor the nomination of the field, if I understand correctly. And that’s absolutely something you can do. When I’ve had to do something like that in the past, I’ve been explicit that that’s what I’m doing in my supporting information–in one instance, this was my writeup:

This green space does not have a proper park sign, so I’m using the bench photographed to anchor the space, rather than trying to take a broad shot of grass and path with no clear focal point–I am not just trying to nominate a random bench, promise! You can clearly see the walking path on satellite view.

Being clear about what you’re doing makes it easier for reviewers to understand why the sign, that would not inherently be eligible in a vacuum, stands in for the greater space. I’d also include links to any websites for cross-country races that might mention the field.

Ok, I’ll try it on that way, thank you!

Yes it can.. See Criteria Clarification Collection

Specifically this section Parks and Outside Recreation

And I quote

““Parks are great places to explore, exercise and socialize. A nomination can be made for a park even if a park does not have a physical sign but is clearly a park. If there is an obvious entrance or focal point, that would be a good location to place the pin, but equally the middle of the park may be suitable. The supporting photo and text should provide evidence that the location is intended to be used as a park or recreational area.””

So have a look round and see what else you can use as a placemarker. In supporting - state a great place to explore and exercise. Why it is great and importantly if you have evidence - website links of the park (government/council) and the running then include. News articles on the sport activities also help  !

Good luck

Yea ofc, in this area they do national running races, so i guess it can finally be a good wayspot!

If there are webpages you can link to that can evidence its use in these races, you can put the links in the suppporting information to prove what you are saying.
