Changes to Save as Draft - Discussion

Excited to try this out. Web Submit does not recognized the location from my photos. Is this going to prevent me from using this feature?

(Yes, location is on.)

This sounds wonderful but I’m confused.

Previously I could create a draft anywhere, then when I get in range I could submit it.

Now, the phrasing suggests I can submit that draft from anywhere as I don’t have to be in range, but this cannot be correct.

I can still create a draft and edit the draft even though the pin is > 10 km away, but I can’t submit it.

Does this mean that

  • A draft that was created within range can be submitted from anywhere

  • A draft that was created more than 10km away can only be submitted if you are within range OR can be submitted from anywhere if you did an in-range edit first

In other words, the draft gets a “submitter was in range at some point” marker and once that marker is set, you can submit from anywhere?

Yes this exactly.

That makes sense, but it was hard to get from the explanation. I just had to assume it

Is this retroactive too?

I would say not…

I should learn how to read

Yes it worked. Whether I started the draft at home and added the photos on site, or started the draft on site with the photos, I could finish and submit from home on my computer. This is fantastic!

I wish it was, I have a bunch of orphaned drafts I couldn’t submit from traveling back when we only got one nomination a day.

Yes, that is correct!

Once a draft is saved while you are in range (or saved and edited within range). You can then submit it from anywhere, as long as the location pin itself is not moved more than 80 meters from where it was originally placed
