Hello!
I am not a player of this game first of all. (Okay, I’ve downloaded it to have access to this forum).
I am a father of two little kids-3 and 5 years old.
Couple months ago, I had an argument with a group of people on children playground.
They were taking pictures of playground while my, and other kids were playing there.
When I approached them with other parent they started to say that it’s just a game which pissed me off.
Luckly there was an adult whitin them who could explain to me what they were doing.
He told me it is some scanning of the place inside this (pokemon go) game which is helping them get some bonuses or whatever.
They assured me they will try to fix somehow this problem by removing or moving or changing something in game so they will stop taking pictures there.
So that what was couple months ago.
Since then:
- some players tried to remove this playground via game - didn’t happen
- I personally reached Support (via this link: Request modification or removal of a PokéStop or Gym – Pokémon GO) to request removal or even changing this playground: while I was talking to them via mail I found out that this scanning feature was applied there just because it is Gym and asked if they could probably change it into just stop, so scannng will stop. But after 2 weeks a-mails they just stopped answering me and ended with suggestion to go to some “plaground authorities” so they would handle that problem.
- Well, I didn’t want to give up, so I actually went to “authorities”. Just to clarify: in Georgia almost all of the playgrounds are under Major house jurisdiction, but obviously you can’t just go there. So we have Public Service Hall (their web-site for you just to prove: https://psh.gov.ge/) where people can reach through that place to any governtmental instances.
So I went there, explained situation and they told me that even if they would like to help me, they can’t and won’t use any official e-mails/posts/requests since Niantic has no official and legal representative in Georgia. The only thing they can do is to send request to Major who then will send request to the Perlament to ban and cancel the whole game in general which is the only possible way to get any legal help from government. - Meanwhile, dring my struggles, next to that playground opened a new kindergarten:
it was pension house but owners of the building renovated it as a kindergarten. For now, they don’t have their own protected playground so all the kids during daycare obviously playing on the nearby playground which is same, as I am talking in this topic. And no, I already asked: they don’t even have ofiicial phone number not any e-nail, they could’ve make request. So they also sent me to Public Service Hall.

So. After all this way I ended up here, on this forum, since players told me it is probably the last possible place where I can actually get help.
Just to clarify:
I am not against those players
I am not against game
I just want my children (and others) feel safe on the playground and not check all the time if there is someone taking pictures of them.
