May I know Bank or Branches Bank is a criteria of wayspot?

Normally, no. A bank would just be a generic business. You do not go to a bank to exercise, explore, or be social.

There could be exceptions for recognized historic banks, or some banks may have been imported by Niantic to create game locations where there aren’t any, so it can be confusing.
A bank is not an ineligble location, so it can be allowed, just not for its function. As @cyndiepooh said there may be other reasons why a particular bank is a good wayspot (eg the architecture of the building, a historic building, it may have nice art in the lobby, it is a famous building from a movie etc)
But 99% of the cases, a bank is just a bank, and not a good wayspot
For individuals, banks make daily life and financial management convenient while supporting major life purchases. For businesses, they ensure smooth daily financial operations and back up business expansion through funding and information. While banks provide these essential services, they fundamentally serve as a standard commercial business infrastructure. They do not offer a unique place for exploration, exercise, or social gathering. Therefore, a generic bank or branch does not meet any of the core Niantic Wayfarer eligibility criteria.
You are trying to get a wayspot removed?
Removal is different to submission. Niantic have not published the removal rules, but it is roughly along the following lines. To be removed, a wayspot need to meet one of these:
- not safely accessible
- does not exist
- definitely not eligible
- on school grounds, SFPRP, farmland
Although banks are difficult to get accepted, they are not a categorical rejection. It is possible to get a bank accepted so this wayspot doesn’t meet removal criteria.
(An example of something which is definitely not eligible would be a standard road sign, such as a Give Way sign.)
