Hello Wayfinders,
We are thrilled to share some updates about Codename Display. These updates will impact how the setting will behave within Pokémon GO and in the Wayfarer Map. Check out the changes below:
Pokemon GO
Effective as of a few days ago, codenames on your contributions through Wayfarer Web are now appearing on Wayspot images that make it into Pokémon GO if the corresponding setting is toggled on. This update establishes a consistent experience, as there is no longer any distinction in how codenames are displayed between submissions made via Wayfarer Web or Pokémon GO.
Wayfarer Map
Your codename is now visible on the Wayfarer Map for contributions made through either Wayfarer Web or Pokémon GO if the corresponding setting is toggled on. When a Wayspot is selected, the side panel will display the submitter’s codename at the bottom and within the image carousel for every Wayfinder whose image has been approved for that specific Wayspot.
In addition to the codename(s) being displayed, you’ll also be able to see the age of the Wayspot and image(s) within the same side panel and carousel.
The codename display setting will control your codename display option within both Pokémon GO and the Wayfarer Map. If you do not wish to have your codename displayed within the Wayfarer Map or Pokémon GO, please make sure to turn off this setting by going to the Settings tab on the Wayfarer website and toggling off the Codename Display for Wayspot Submissions setting. We’re looking forward to hearing your feedback.
