This is a shrine and tourist attraction. It’s located on an island in the middle of a river that’s designated as a Japanese national park. The Wayspot is a gym.
The island is small and can’t accommodate large crowds.
The main image of the Wayspot shows the island’s entrance and bridge.
It’s open at night, but there’s no light leading to the island.
For the above reasons, I am considering designating the location of the Wayspot at the entrance on the riverbank, but I am concerned that this measure is appropriate and may lead to false applications. Could you please give me some expert advice?
The location of a wayspot needs to be on the actual POI. Usually this would mean you couldn’t move it to the other end of this bridge, but this POI is a little odd - the wayspot image is of the bridge itself.
Koyama Kannon is the shrine, but the image is the bridge. The location is the shrine and is not on the bridge, so it could be argued that the wayspot is for the bridge and needs relocating.
You could suggest the eastern end of the bridge but Niantic might choose the western end if it was moved.
No, I’m thinking of moving to a place further east that isn’t in the image. There is a stone monument with the name of this shrine engraved on it, and it’s the entrance to this bridge.
