Deleted wayspot

In the early days of ingress „Wittgensdorf Oberer Bahnhof“ (Wittgensdorf Upper Railway Station) became portal. One of the first portals of our village.

Last known location:

  • 50.882841,12.841512
  • Bahnhofstraße, Wittgensdorf, Chemnitz, Sachsen, 09228, Deutschland

And now that wayspot had been removed.

But the railway station is still there.

That train station even have a wikipedia page

because it is really important for the history of out village.

In 2017 the platforms were moved to a location near to the main street and the bus stops.

But the historic Reception building (built in 1871) is still there.

So I renamed the old portal to „Wittgensdorf ehemaliger Oberer Bahnhof“ (Wittgensdorf former Upper Railway Station) and added a new description.

Yes, the old platforms are no longer existing. There is a boring new train stop 200m away.

But the historic railway station is still there and still important for the people in our village.

Even the old name can be read.

And all of the old facilities are still there.

It is NOT private residential property, school or unsafe access – you can get there if you work there or have business there or walk along a hiking trail.

I did not trespassing to take pictures.

So please restore our historic „Wittgensdorf ehemaliger Oberer Bahnhof“
