Downgrading a gym due to construction?

Hello :slight_smile: There is a gym that is located in an area that is currently undergoing long term construction and the spot is no longer ideal for large groups to gather and play. The POI does still exist in real life so I don’t think it should be removed entirely. But is it possible to downgrade it from a gym to a pokestop, so that a different and more conveniently + safely located stop in this cell can turn into a gym? I know generally the only way to remove a gym is if the property owner files an official complaint or the POI no longer exists, but does anyone have any experience regarding long term construction projects?

Just an opinion but as it still exists and there will be people that are legitimately allowed there then I think it will stay and you will just need to wait until everything as sorted.

I have a similar in that a mosque that is a a Poke Gym has been demolished to be rebuilt in to a larger better equipped mosque. The name and purpose are remaining the same but there is 6 months where it isn’t a mosque so I have questioned whether it should be removed.

The link tells me to report the stop in pogo. I looked into this, and the two options that are kind of relevant are unsafe access and sensitive location. Both of these are not completely accurate though. There is still very narrow (but safe) sidewalk access. I guess a construction site can arguably be a sensitive location? What would you suggest? Thanks for your help :slight_smile:

Yeah that’s a similar experience to this. It’s just that this POI is in a island-type mini park (hard to explain haha) so it was great for gathering in a group for raids. But now you can’t do this with the construction and there are plenty of other pokestops that can fill this void. Feels like a bit of a shame to put the local playing on hold another 6 months to a year (unclear when the construction will be over, but not much progress has been made at all and its already been ongoing for 3 months…)
