Duplicates... but yet no pokestop for it

Hi, i don’t know if i am doing this right, i apologize if not. I’m not tech savvy and stuff like this confuses me…lol anyways please i know 3 images i submitted for new pokestops, because i think they would make great ones, have been rejected because they claim they’re duplicates… but i promise there isn’t… i don’t know if something needs to be upgraded or i did something on my end to show it’s doubled, but i promise the game, it shows no pokestops of the ones i am trying to create. I even tried to appeal the rejection for it, however they still claimed it was a duplicat. so i do hope it can get looked into and resolved or we can come up with better suggestions. Thank you for your time and greatly appreciate it…

Hello and welcome @Tiff87John69

It is likely that what is happening is that they are there but do not appear in Pokémon Go.

If you can provide the GPS co ordinates ( these will be in the email sent to confirm submission) we Wii check and explain.

Hi thank you fir getting back to me
I greatly appreciate it, and i hope we can makethose pokestops appear, maybe  hopefully :folded_hands:

I Added this image for the location, i hope i did it right… and it’s helpful, but unfortunately i don’t for the other location of the tennis courts just yet…

Hi,
Unfortunately I was correct. These already exist as wayspots.
It’s a bit technical but this article helps explain
https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/
Here is a visual of the situation

The green boxes are what the article calls level 17 cells. And Pokémon Go has said only 1 wayspot in that can become a stop or gym. In both cases something else is already in the game so the spots you are submitting though valid had already been submitted by someone else, and yours are duplicates. Your photos have been added.
It is frustrating, but it is all about the PoGo acceptance rules.
The mural already has appeared as a powerspot, and there is a possibility that the gazebo could also be a powerspot.

I still don’t get why i can’t see them in my game, its very confusing to me, of course i am a very simple minded person…lol
but i understand, thank you for taking the time :folded_hands:

Hello and Welcome,

I will try to explain a different way…

There are 2 databases…

  • The Wayfarer database (every accepted wayspot)
  • The Pokemon Go database (only wayspots used in Pokemon Go)

When you nominate, as default it only shows wayspots in the Pokemon Go database. There is a toggle switch which will then show the Wayfarer Database.

When people are reviewing they are shown the wayspots from the Wayfarer Database and asked “Are these a Duplicate”.

Not sure if this makes any more sense but I hope so…

Good Luck

@hankwolfman posted this in a previous thread.

It highlights the toggle switch.

The map also shows the blue “Pokestops” which are the ones used in game.
The orange “Wayfarer Pins” are the wayspots that are not currently used in Pokemon Go but should still be Rejected as “Duplicate”.

Got it thank you
