So i got this spot rejected because it was marked as a duplicate which is incorrect. In the appeal i explained that the university has several buildings around the downtown, which many of them are spots already and the one i nominated is not a wayspot already.
In the reason that i got explaining why the appeal was not accepted they say the spot is in the school property but if you look at the second photo of the nomination you can see that the logo is outside on the street.
I also add photos of some wayspot that are already ingame in which they used the university for wayspot but in different buildings.
Mine is on 5 poniente, first photo of wayspot ingame is on 9 sur, and second photo is on 3 poniente. The university has like 6 or 7 buildings around the downtown and they share the same logo/name. I know that some are spots even when they are not ingame, whoever mine is not yet a spot.

The first wayspot
The second
As you can see, they are different locations of the same university. All in colonial/historical buildings.
I think the case of it being marked as a duplicate is due to this Wayspot:
Since this is in our main photo, you may want to consider taking a different one for the building. I do see on Street View that there is a sign at the top of the building, as well as one on the east side. You may want to consider one of these for the main photo.
Also, make sure to have the sider to show other Wayspots on when you go to nominate.

Might also help to use the street/location name as part of the title to show really prominently that its a different building?
Good luck, hope its overturned or that you can resubmit.

I really appreciate your time on giving me those tips, if its not overturned im gonna nominate it again with those tips in mind so its easier to set a difference.
Either way, what makes me feel upset is the reason they gave me for the appeal… its like they didnt even read what i said, or even checked the photos to understand whats going on. They took the easy road to say no.
When i do my review on wayspot i always go street level and check, even if its seems to be a duplicate i check and compare cuz i know sometimes there are sometimes it can be different wayspot of the something that at first sight looks the same. I think is part of being a good reviewer.
That’s it though. They looked at the main photo and saw a similar emblem for an existing Wayspot. Yes, I understand that these are 2 different buildings, but when a nearby existing Wayspots looks similar, it’s likely to be considered a duplicate.
I’m also thinking that it was ML that marked it as a duplicate, not staff, which it has been doing more of lately; I had a baseball field at a complex marked as a duplicate by ML just recently, even though it’s the only field that doesn’t yet have a Wayspot. ML might not be as thorough at times as a human reviewer.
And even the appeals team makes mistakes, and staff has advised us to post about decisions we don’t agree with here in the forums. I can’t say if a reversal will happen or not. I will note that just translating the title and supporting info does make this sound like a high school, for those under 18. For example, here’s how your appeal translates to English:
Alva Edison University has several buildings (campuses) with the same logo (they belong to the same institution), but they are separate campuses. This one belongs to the high school. Near it is a university spot with the same image but belongs to a different building. If you check the street-level maps, you can see that there are different campuses on 5th Street and another on 9th Street South, the buildings completely independent of each other. Marking it as a duplicate is a mistake, as this building is not a current spot.
