Dear Niantic Review Team,
I would like to appeal the rejection of my nomination for the PokéStop titled “Hyster-Yale Factory”.
This location represents an important and historic industrial site in our community. The Hyster-Yale factory has operated here for over 70 years, producing large machinery and port forklifts used worldwide. It is a well-known local employer, with approximately 800 people working here daily, many of whom are active Pokémon GO players.
While the location is industrial and not a typical “beautiful” place, it plays a key role in the local community and is one of the few safe and permanent landmarks in the area. There are no parks, artworks, or public monuments nearby — only factories and warehouses — which makes this one of the few eligible locations that can represent this part of the city in Niantic games.
The nomination was correctly categorized as “Machinery Manufacturer / Industrial Site / Materials Manufacturer”, which are existing options in the nomination system. If such categories are supported, this type of location should be considered valid as an important local workplace and community landmark.
Many employees would love to have a PokéStop here so they can play together before work and during breaks. This would promote social interaction among colleagues, encourage light exercise, and support mental relaxation, aligning perfectly with Niantic’s mission to bring people together through exploration and play.
The spot is safely accessible from the public sidewalk outside the facility and is not within restricted or private residential areas.
We kindly ask for this nomination to be reconsidered, as it reflects the industrial heritage and the people who contribute daily to our city’s economy.
Thank you for your time and for reviewing this appeal.
Sincerely
Czipsi

Hey so the factory itself overall doesnt sound like its a great place to socialise, exercise or explore - its a workplace.
However, it may have places as part of it that are good - for example do you have a staff cafeteria or seating area for breaks? My company even has a games area with a pool table and some books and comfy seating in the break room. Things like that could be nominated as a great place to socialise.
Does your company have a gym? Or outside seating space? Is it near any walking trails? All those things can be considered too.
So just because a business isnt eligible on its own, some parts of it or nearby items might be

Hi @Czipsu77
Welcome to the forum, I hope we can help you find something that meets eligibility for you to nominate. Unfortunately as far as I can tell your current nomination appeal does not as @frealafgb has explained above.
I did want to clarify that the categories added to a nomination do not mean that those items are eligible. They are there to add meta data to the map if a wayspot is accepted. I know it’s confusing and I wish the categories were not part of the nomination process.

ok, thank you for your answer, unfortunetly our cafeteria, and outside sitting places is not publicly avalible, so, this is valiation of the niantic rules, but when we are nominating this place, you have to categorise this place and there is a category machinery manufacturer, so i dont understand is not good place to nominate, especially that alot of people meet there from small vilages and we could play together
thank you so much for explaining in details
No, you don’t need it to be publically available, just to have safe pedestrian access (which of course your staff areas do have)
Not all PoIs have to be available to all people- but your work colleagues would have access and thats fine
The categories arent anything to do with eligibility, so ignore them - they’re just collecting data there.
I would consider submitting your staff cafeteria and your outside seating area. They could meet the criteria of a great place to be social

Feel free to share some pictures here for advice if you like and we will help you!!
Main thing is to link it to the criteria about being a great place to socialise, and taking good clear pictures that don’t have any prominent people at least in the main picture. Hope it works out

Also to add to the categories: these come from a 3rd party and were not complied by Wayfarer. You will see that there are many categories that are ineligible, like “Elementary School,” in the list, so they don’t represent what may or may not be eligible.
Hello @Czipsu77
It’s not always obvious where the best place to post is in the forum. The appeals section is for different kinds of appeals so I will move this to nomination support.
I’ve also changed the title to make it more distinctive.
If you have a rejection you have an option to appeal through the contributions page - you have 2 appeal slots that refresh every 15 days.
Your nomination rejection says it was our team And it was rejected quickly, so that means it was probably an auto decision.
I would suggest posting drafts / ideas of what you are thinking of submitting. That way the wayfinders here can advise on how to give it the best chance possible.
