Frosty the Impermanent Snowman

  • Wayspot Title: Frosty the Snowman

  • Location (lat/lon): Ingress Intel Map 36.158398,-86.778864

  • City: Nashville, TN

  • Country: USA

  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):

  • Additional Information: Streetview back thru 2011 shows nothing remotely like this. Just utility covers, then a mural.
Perhaps it was a Christmas display that was never caught on Streetview.
At the December 2024 anomaly, multiple agents from both factions tried to find Frosty, and could not.

(It doesn’t even make sense to think there’s a permanent Frosty the Snowman at a Southern city sports arena. “Frosty the Snowman” was published in 1950 and is still under copyright protection.
Sometime between Jan 2021 and July 2022, a mural was painted here, of the mascot for the Nashville Predators hockey team that plays in this arena. The mural lives on. No Frosty.)

I think it could be something to do with the Nashville songwriters hall of fame but misplaced. I can’t find images or even a trace on street view though.

From their about us page

Outside at the corner of Fifth Ave. and Demonbreun St., classic song titles and legendary names surround the landmark Songwriters Square (directly across from Bridgestone Arena and the Country Music Hall of Fame) that strikingly illustrates Nashville’s reputation as a songwriter’s town.

Nice sleuthing!
I’ll bet it’s in Walk of Fame Park, here: Google Maps

But the wayspot is at 198 Sixth Street, a block away, on the other side of the giant Bridgestone Arena. I walked all around there and didn’t connect the possibility. It’s so different.

Maybe its nominator mis-pinned it on purpose because they knew it wouldn’t show up at its actual location (due to other wayspots there).

Thanks for the appeal, @MargariteDVille. After reviewing the additional evidence provided, we’ve decided to retire the Wayspot in question.
