"Gym Threshold Met But 3rd Gym Not Spawning (India Map Over-Density Bug)"

Hello Niantic Staff,

I am writing to report a stuck gym-density counter in India. Our local neighborhood zone has more than 20 active, visible PokéStops and Gyms on the map.

Many of these stops were automatically created by Niantic’s mass-import updates. Because of this, multiple stops are crammed tightly together. Our community has voted on our preferred PokéStop to become the gym, but the automated daily map sync is frozen and will not promote it.

Could an administrator please run a manual density refresh on this cell to trigger our third gym?

Game: Pokémon GO
Trainer Name: ONEPIECE1095

There are 3 gyms in this cell. Snake wall mural, Madhavaram krishna rao bust, and lord rama temple

It is strongly believed that the “Photo Vote” for Gym selection has been removed and it is now (at least mostly) random.

Hey @Shashi1095 ,

There are no issues with Wayspots at this location.

Best,

This L14 cell already has 3 gyms (Snake Wall Mural, Madhavaram krishna rao bust, Lord Rama Temple).

Once created, gyms will generally stay there even it gets out-voted later.

Photo Votes are now only used to determine which Photo is used in game.

Gym selection is now Random.

Gyms will not be replaced unless they are removed for legitimate reasons such as no longer existing.

When did that change? It was still working a while ago :frowning:

I think it is at least two years ago since voting was used for gym selection.

Not all players want the same pokestops to be gyms, so voting creates unfairness. Random selection is not unfair.
