Thumbs down for Appropriate and select “Private property” as the reason.
I would only report abuse if it is a blatant attempt to get a home pokestop or something similar. Where it simply looks like someone isn’t aware of the strict rules, but the object itself would otherwise be eligible, that isn’t abuse.
I am very glad you posted here. This is very disappointing that someone who is trying to do a good job with reviewing did not know how to reject for Single Family Private Residential Property. Thank you for this feedback.
When reviewing, if you want to explicitly reject something, you must thumbs down one of Appropriate, Safe, Accuracy, or Permanent and Distinct. For most of these, you will then be asked to provide an explanation from a list of options.
Marking a thumbs down for Socialise, Exercise and Explore does not count as a rejection.
I suspect this is something you were not aware of. It is not at all obvious and, from the perspective of a reviewer, is a significant error by Niantic.
(If you know something needs rejecting, but cannot find which one to use, thumbs down for Permanent and Distinct. This is used for anything that is simply not eligible because it isn’t at all worth being on the map.)
Not particularly annoyed, just think double standards are a bad thing and should be called out so the inconsistency can be addressed
Initially we had max powerspots at a huge array of houses, and then we had street corner tests which seemed to be sometimes on SFPRP, and now we are rolling out these street corners to America which appear to be like 95+% sfprp/no safe pedestrian access. Seems like Niantic think their own criteria is irrelevant.
So why should we reject things on the outside of fences of houses nowadays?! I know its the criteria, but it seems silly to be honest when niantic themselves just plonk the pin right on the main house and call it a good job
