How to fight the majority opinion?

Hey! Welcome back! I think this is a really interesting discussion, and while the wayspots we struggle with are different, if you don’t mind, I would like to share what has helped me feel better about the things I find to be a bit generic my area.

Lots of people here have suggested making new photo contributions, edits and removal requests when appropriate, and I agree with all of that! The thing that has helped me the most, however, is doing research on the generic things I find to be able to say something that could be helpful or interesting about them in an edit. I spend a lot of time writing descriptions for things other people have gotten approved. It helps me feel like I’m improving the map, and it also helps me get to know my local area more. For example, you could describe what kinds of equipment are featured at that particular playground, or if the equipment seems appropriate for specific ages, etc.

I get that this isn’t really your point, but my experience with Wayfarer is that there will always be waypoints that we don’t personally like. This is how I have decided to deal with that, personally.
