There was one particular day when I submitted a lot of nominations and I have run out of appeals, I didn’t expect for many of them to be rejected.
I wanted to add some context/additional info for each one. (1) I checked google maps and it isn’t there so maybe I understand why reviewers might be confused but it would be stretch to say it isn’t permanent. (2) I think what prompted reviewers to think it wasn’t permanent was the overgrowth but its still a fishing spot. (3) This public art is inside of a designated parking lot area but people can still access it. (4) This site is actually part of the NRHP not sure if reviewers didn’t like my photo? but, I wanted to show how scenic the promenade is so people would go and check out how cool it is rather than if I took a photo of what might look like an industrial hallway, not too attractive. (5) It says it was rejected because I took the photo from far away but, its a promenade so it doesn’t make sense to me. This is one of the best views from this walkway since the other section was occupied by construction. (6) It was rejected because it was private property but it isn’t, in the supporting image you can see there isn’t even a gate, this little park is hidden but its used often. (7) This one was auto-rejected (8) This one is a pretty difficult nomination I’ve had to resubmit several times but, its also a promenade and have tried giving different names so that maybe its clear what it is. my description is clear. if its not appeal worthy it might have to go to the forums but its the only promenade that has given me problems year after year.

I’m not clear what you want to happen with these submissions since you say you are currently out of appeals.

I wanted to appeal them through the forums. But, it’s a few nominations that need appealing. I like doing it through the website but, I’m out of appeals. It’ll take me the rest of the year to appeal my rejections and I nominated several more the other day. I usually wonder if the voters were at fault, if it was my fault I’d improve on it. I don’t usually like to publicly show what I’m appealing since there are people who vote on this site as well so I like to keep my appeals private, but I decided to try it out today since something eligible got rejected for what I believe to be a bad reason.
I have confidence in my nominations. I can probably resubmit the same info over again and put them through voting but it might take a while for all of them to go back into reviewing with the same risk of them being rejected.
The only method of appealing a rejection outcome is through the appeals that each of us has. I agree these are limited and at times that can be hard.
I think most find it particularly frustrating when the rejection is because the auto system ( nickname Emily) as it hasnt had a human review.
That is fine if you dont want to share any.
I think we all nominate because we believe in the POI.
I find that even after an initial
“Argghhh this should not have been rejected moment”
If I take a long hard critical look and put myself in the shoes of strangers seeing this for the first time I can see that changing some things might improve things, that I might have over-stuffed the nomination - its great because of point 1 and point 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 to the situation that they might think what is this about
or the opposite of not drawing out what to me is obvious but to a stranger wont be.
All of that is good to do before submitting an appeal as it helps focus on the points to make in the appeal
or if I decide that actually I would be better, to change and to resubmit.

This was a painful way to give us information, but I did go look up all the nominations and here’s my feedback:
The “Picnic Spot” is park grass. Can you picnic there? Sure. Is it designed specifically for that? No.
Fishing Spot - there is again nothing here as an anchor that would tell people why this specific spot is for fishing when it’s identical to the rest of the area around the body of water. Can you fish there? Maybe. Is it designed for that specifically? No.
Gardens of the City - I’m unclear from what’s provided what you nominated. If it’s the artwork that’s here, then, yes, I would have approved it, except that it’s already accepted in the wrong spot; I’m doing a help chat edit for that. If it’s the landscaping, then I don’t think it’s distinct enough.
Impossible to tell what you’re nominating from the Google pin alone.
Does appear to be a lakeview walk, but I don’t know if there’s a visual anchor for it that would explain why it should be placed in one spot along it versus another.
Calling this a park feels like a stretch. It’s landscaping. There are some benches and stuff here, so I’d maybe accept it as a plaza, but it would also really depend on the picture and description I was given.
Can’t tell from satellite or water view what’s going on here, but it does appear to be another path along the water. Does it have a visual anchor to make this spot unique?
I would accept this, though hard to say without seeing the photo and description. I’ve submitted several unsigned park trail entrances that just have the bollards and almost every one requires an appeal. Reviewers do not like them. But also calling it a “Driveway” when it’s a walking path is just asking for rejections. The bollards are literally there to prevent driving.
Overall, my advice is that some cells just do not have anything interesting to submit, and that’s okay. Don’t try to tell me something is what it isn’t just because that cell happens to be empty.
Your confidence in your submission is slightly misplaced. Both of these have significant issues.
The gardens, based purely on the location, is very close to an existing wayspot that may be for the same feature.
The promenade is a random indistinct spot on a waterfront walkway. Ask yourself why this location is special, how it anchors the walkway?
The walkway itself might be eligible for Exploration or Exercise, if it is described well, but this specific location has no value.
If you are getting a lot of rejections and have more rejections than you can appeal, you would do well to step back and evaluate the rejections to work out what the problem is. Nearly always when a wayspot is rejected, there is something wrong with the submission.
The POI might be eligible, but already has a wayspot, or is mislocated, or the photo has a problem, or the text has a problem etc. Don’t just automatically appeal every rejection and assume your submission is perfect and the reviewers were wrong.
(You cannot appeal in the forums. You can however get advice.)

ok. Yeah i’m confused. I Thought salixsorbus and lizzybdarcy commented because they had access to my account and saw my nomination. When I first posted I thought I only had to include the title and coordinates and whoever saw that could be directed to look at my photo, description, and supporting information but I never provided that in the forums. I’m not on the forums enough to know how it all works so. I really treated “1-8” nominations as if it were appeals reasons. elijustrying explained that’s not how it works and moved the thread to nomination support and I didn’t realize that happened til now when I got home. I’m ok with waiting for appeals. a couple should be coming soon. I appreciate all the help though.
Thanks! Yeah, I thought someone was going to go into my account and see my description and supporting photo which is why the post kinda just shows minimal information. I had originally posted in ‘Appeals’ and it got moved to nomination support, which I appreciate the help. The reason I have these rejections is because I did 50 nominations in one day. all the other ones are approved, these got rejected for random reasons like ‘blurry photo’ for the promenade or ‘‘private property’’. my supporting images show how it isn’t, i’ve dealt with this issue so many times where it gets flagged for private property and I always try to show in my supporting photo the entrance and hours of operation. No matter how many times I submit ‘perfectly’ I always get those specifically and i’m kinda used to it.

I get what you’re stepping in though, I dont nominate unless there is ‘‘something’’ potentially there. Since I studied urban planning i’m able to see public spaces as great areas to hang out and explore. but I am bad at explaining and I will always have trouble with it.
