(I know there’s a translation option on the forum, but I always use Google Translate.) I wanted your opinion on reposting the request because I wouldn’t mind another opinion (I’m convinced I should repost it because it’s valid for me, but I’m biased because it’s my request). For those who rightly can’t translate, it’s a cross with an artistic form of geometric stylization (I hope you translated correctly). The work is located on a building that used to be a pharmacy. Now I don’t know what it is, maybe a warehouse or something similar. In any case, it’s on the sidewalk. Even without knowing what’s inside the door, multiple people surely have access to it, so it should be valid. I look forward to your opinions. Thank you so much, as always.
Could you add a wider shot showing the surroundings.
Personally to me it just looks like a basic business logo and would not be eligible but without more info its just a guess.
Look, I’ll give you the address: Via Privata Pietro Gaggia, 20, 20139 Milano MI (Milan, Italy) because I can’t/don’t remember how to find the coordinates. Keep in mind, however, that I sold it not as a logo or anything else but as an artistic form, as something made with a unique style, rarely seen elsewhere. And it seemed worth requesting precisely because of its uniqueness.
If anybody else wishes to take a look its at 45.43815169988481, 9.233191932328687
IMO: It is not meant to be anything artistic, likely just a logo from the previous business.
You don’t have to worry about my opinion as due to the location it won’t be me voting, maybe someone more local would like to comment as it would be locals that would be voting and they may be able to see something more cultural that I am missing.
Good Luck.
I’d be interested if there’s a story behind. Why did the current owner didn’t change the door decoration?
No, instead I think that even though I have my own beliefs and will most likely ask for it much later, because it’s not a nice area and close to my home, other people’s opinions, even if they don’t like my proposal, should be considered and accepted; otherwise I wouldn’t ask for anything and would go my own way. So, anyway, thank you.
I can’t find any story behind it. The only thing I can think of is that it was a pharmacy, and I don’t know about the rest of the world, but in Italy, wherever there is a pharmacy, or in this case, there was, they always put a cross to indicate “come sick, we have cures here.” This is because in ancient times, those who cared for the sick went to Christian convents or monasteries where they were healed, and the green symbolizes life. But if I have to answer your question, it’s (I think) because they didn’t want to spend money to remove it.
I would be very surprised if this was ever a pharmacy. It’s a warehouse and is absolutely not somewhere where you find a retail store.
The streetview history has information in it.
In 2008, it was a warehouse for DELBA, which appears to be a company dealing in clothing distribution, possibly also manufacturing. It may have been already closed then.
From 2010 there are graffiti tags on the doors.
From 2015, the doors were replaced with boarding (presumably the building needed to be secured).
In April 2023, there are images with the doors open! Definitely never a pharmacy.
In September 2025, the logo appears. The little side door is open and you can see the inside has been tidied up and could be inviting to customers.
None of this indicates what the logo is for, but it isn’t for an old pharmacy and it was (almost certainly) added for the current occupiers.
I recommend visiting the place, going in and asking what the business is, as long as the side door is open. It looks inviting enough from the streetview images that that should be OK. You may also find matching images inside in order to provide more information about what this is. I actually like it and think it is worth retrying, but you need information about it.
I only just noticed something. xkcd: Coordinate Precision
I forget which ambo posted this in response to a similar reference, but I thank them for pointing me towards this, and thank @SlimboyFat71 for giving me the opportunity to post it here ![]()
The decimal places are just what is given by Google Maps.
I don’t remember why but for some reason I did work out approximately what effect each decimal place has to distance…
