I would like your opinion 2

First of all sorry for the English I use google translate. Today I woke up and Niantic accepted this request (photo 1) but moved it to the sidewalk (photo 2) thus making it disappear from the game but if we put Google Maps by tilting the map (there is the button in the bottom right with the four squares) so I suppose 3D version we can better understand the perspectives etc.. even if sometimes they can deceive us I put some examples, in photo 3 it is practically the same as photo 2 but in 3D version and the cut of the cell (the green line seems the same) in photo 4 the cut of the cell seems even in the middle of the house much further ahead of the cut of photo 2 and 3 in photo 5 the cut of the cell seems more or less in the middle of photo 2 and photo 4 but the main attention I wanted you to focus on was in photo 6 in fact the license plate if you want I also put the support photo (photo 8) it seems that it is just above the line of the dividing cell (so in free cell) where I put the circle (sorry a little shaky (That circle, but it’s just to make you understand.) My question is: was Niantic right to move my request to the sidewalk because I was considering wall 8 (photo 6) and, as you can see from the last photo, that perspective makes me right that my proposal should actually be there. If you want, I can also show you how I requested it (photo seven). Many thanks to anyone who expresses an opinion.

You can write in your own language, there’s a globe icon which will translate it for other users. I’ve not looked enough at the location to give a view on that.

When comparing to a few map sources, it appears a few metres away from the correct location, but even if placed at the correct location the outcome would have been the same.

There is a small amount of variation between map sources, but all have that corner of the building in the cell where the Wayspot was placed. Google has some slight perspective distortion due to the angle of the photo taken by the plane, but Bing and ESRI have more vertical straight down perspectives which also place the corner in the same cell as the currently accepted Wayspot.

Google Satellite:

Bing Aerial Maps:

ESRI:

Apple Maps:

The 3D perspective cannot be reliably used to judge anything at any height. It should not be used to placing markers. If you were trusting that perspective, then things in the exact same coordinates but different heights (e.g. things on different floors) would have vastly different coordinates. That does not make any sense. Always use the 2D perspective when placing markers correctly.

Thank you so much for your opinion, I didn’t know about these little differences between the maps. The only thing I can add is: yes you are right in saying that most of the maps, if not all, go against me, however (and I say this without any arrogance, just my opinion, I don’t want to do what they "had to accept it by force in the point I indicated, let’s be clear, no arrogance) however I found, let’s call it a legal “trick” because I don’t think Niantic ever said that the pin must be positioned taking into account only the top view (the 2D should be) (it’s a logical thing, but I think they never said it, if they did, I apologize in advance) and then, given that the request was a little more in an occupied cell than in a free cell, I made a plan to make sure it was accepted in the cell I wanted and actually, if you reason with photos 6 and 7, you can’t say I’m wrong. I thought I had found a legal trick that doesn’t violate Niantic rules so as to have my proposal accepted in the point I designated. The last thing I have to say is that I really would like a Niantic employee with This information, which I stupidly didn’t include in the request (stupid me), should be answered and said: “No, look, we’re sticking to our decision.” Or: “Yes, after seeing the new evidence, there will be a change in the waystop’s position.” Anyway, thanks again for your opinion.

Niantic have never needed to say that only the 2D view should be taken into account, because the pin for the wayspot is supposed to be at the actual location of the object it is representing.

Whatever map you use to choose your location doesn’t change what the location is.

Deliberately placing a wayspot at the wrong location to get it into an empty cell in which it does not exist is abuse and can get penalised. Claiming you found a map that allowed you to do this would not be valid as a defense.

I was about to reply to you always in a friendly way, of course, from the writing unfortunately it seems that the tone gets heated easily but I just noticed that some employee saw the conversation we are having and moved the request (unfortunately) not taking into consideration my “trick” but putting it right on the wall of the house but at least I indirectly got my answer and that’s all I wanted.
