Soo shortly, im living in Turkiye and we have generic business like “Bim” “A.101” “Migros” +++ are those ok to become a pokestop?
Im still tryin to learn how to use ninaric
Welcome to the forums
The best place to start is with the criteria
Think about Exercise, Social and Explore.
To be accepted, a wayspot needs to meet criteria and be eligible
Criteria: one or more of
- Social - great place that assists with being social with others
- Exercise - great place that assists with exercise
- Explore - great place to explore, that people would show to others and visit
Eligibility
- safely accessible to people who are allowed to be there
- does not obstruct emergency services
- not on single-family private residential property
- not on school ground
- photo decent quality, not tilted
- no people in photo
- nothing ‘wrong’ with the photo (just as putting your dog in the picture)
- no car licence plates in the photo
- decent title
- decent enough description
- does not already exist as a wayspot (even if not visible in Pogo)
Eligibilty Niantic Wayfarer
Acceptance Niantic Wayfarer
Rejection Niantic Wayfarer
A lot of businesses don’t meet any of these key criteria, which is why wayspots often get rejected for being a generic business.
To add to this - something being somewhere you can exercise, can be social and/or can explore is not sufficient, as this is true for almost everything everywhere.
One thing worth adding to the above replies is that Turkiye was one of the countries that had a mass import of Pokéstops and Gyms by the Pokémon Go devs. These were all imported without pictures (though pictures could be added to them by players) and a lot of them were not exactly what you’d expect from a standard wayspot that was checked against the eligibility criteria. We always recommend not to use what you see in game as a basis for what you choose to submit, but this advice is especially prudent when it comes to areas where these mass imports have taken place.
Dude im telling u that im counfuzed and i just want a single answer and ur giving me a whole paragraph
Short answer is: No
These don’t qualify to be a pokestop
Hi, welcome. The two-letter answer is no.
People are very kindly trying to give you the tools to start submitting understanding the system, though. I would suggest taking note.
I already readed the ninatic kriterias and my opinion was markets are ok to explore and socialising but seems like its wrong…
They are a place you can explore and can socialise.
“Can” is doing all the work there and you can say this about any shop. Shops are places to buy things. Meeting people there is not their purpose.
Hmm soo markets is not ok. Is restaurants or hotels are ok?
Im kind of livin in middle of nowhere. Almost all the pokestops and gyms in here have no pic and they make no sense. I want to make great pokestops but we have nothing here except some parks, hotels and restaurants. Nothing is interestig or worth to explore.
Well you did ask for a simple answer and said this was too long when a correct answer was given.
The more correct answer is that there is absolutely no general statement that can be made about any type of object. We would need to see your proposed hotel, market etc, and see the evidence and arguments you would bring for it. No two nominations are alike.
But, it’s also extremely unlikely that supermarkets such as Migros are great places to explore or socialize. You absolutely do not go there specifically for this purpose.
Restaurants are often okay (not the fastfood restaurants). Especially if they are the local hotspots, it helps if they have good reviews.
Hotels are not by design good hotspots, but they often have eligible spots on their property (restaurant, art, swimming pool, fitness area)
Restaurants where people sit down to eat (and generally in couples/groups) are often eligible. They can be hard to get accepted, especially when there are lots of restaurants around, as there needs to be a reason why this restaurant is worth going to instead of the others.
Hotels in themselves don’t meet criteria, but often have something that does. @pokemaster4u2 listed some elements and hotel bars are also good as people often do socialise at them (and not just if staying there).
Restaurants are eligible despite Socialising not being the only reason you go there as you (normally) also go there to eat. A lot of people go to restaurants to eat with other people, which is what makes them eligible. This is similar to bars and pubs (that allow children) as you don’t go there only to drink.
Usually easy to get accepted:
Alright.. I gues some of the restaurants in here is fitting those kriterias.
If you haven’t submitted many wayspots before, you are welcome to post into Nomination Support before submitting, in order to get advice.
(This might include the advice that a particular restaurant is unlikely to get accepted, but people would be likely to help looking for other things in the area.)
Oohh ok ty
