Is there something that can or should be done about that sort of thing?

I know that “report” button has a big “based on your knowledge of the local area” explanation, but it seems that the nomination timer doesn’t give us time to double-check our knowledge of the local area without expiring.

It’d be cool to have a “Hold on while I go check” button in here somewhere.

I don’t want AI junk getting in the database, but I don’t want people getting bans over real things that just happen to look a lot like AI junk more.

A reviewer flagging a nomination does not generate a punishment for abuse. It flags the nomination to Niantic staff to take a look at it. Example:

I would only flag for abuse if convinced it definitely is abuse, not just if I thought it might be.

That’s fair. I definitely try to give the benefit of the doubt. I just really didn’t see how that one picture could be real until I got a second spot to review nearby that seemed totally legit so I had to go see them in person.

Stuff happens I guess.
