Appeal Description:
I am writing to request the removal of several photos from the Wayspot gallery at the locations mentioned above. These photos (attached) include seasonal and temporary displays that do not represent the permanent landmark.

Specifically:

Temporary Inflatables: Several photos feature the “Bugcat Capoo” (blue cat) inflatable balloons. These were part of a short-term promotional event and have since been removed. They are not permanent fixtures of the site.

Seasonal Decorations: Some photos focus on a Pokémon-themed Christmas tree. Per Niantic guidelines, seasonal displays are considered “Temporary” and should not be the primary subject of a Wayspot photo.

Cluttering the Gallery: These photos distract from the actual permanent landmarks (such as the architecture or permanent signage). Having these as active photos may lead to confusion during the review process or for players in the field.

I have marked the invalid photos with “NG” in the attached images to highlight the temporary objects. I kindly ask the team to review and remove these photos to maintain the quality and accuracy of the Wayfarer database.

Since you mentioned Portal: Ingress has been disconnected from Wayfarer since May 2025 due to the sale to Scopely and now has it’s own system.

If you believe a photo is not relevant to the location then you can use the help chat bubble to request that a removal is considered. It is not obvious where to find the correct option.

Personally I like having photos that show variation across the seasons. What one person views as good can be the opposite of someone else.

Seasonal usually does not refer to just seasonal photos, but an actual object that is only seasonal. Example would be a nomination of an object that is only there for the holiday season and at other times it’s just an open plaza.

Personally i dont think those picture warrant removal. I like to see how wayspot decoration change every season.
