I don’t know why that posted again. Here are the official clarifications

If a LFL is placed on eligible property in such a way that any visitors may obstruct the entrance, may encourage trespassing, or may present danger from nearby traffic, they should be considered ineligible.

Residential neighborhoods, if evidence supports it, may also contain non-private land that could be an eligible location for a wayspot.

**Easements, “right-of-ways,” and sidewalks are too broad to make a global statement on, but the guidance is the same as above - if it is part of a private residence, it is ineligible.

So it is still very gray with no blanket statement that “between the sidewalk and the street is okay”. In my opinion, an LFL in front of a home blocks access to the home and encourages trespassing. Happily this one is not eligible to be any kind of game location, so these homeowners will not be bothered.

Appealing the Removal of a Waystop/Pokestop

I’m with you on this one, but given Niantic’s response to similar situations on here and @tehstone’s experiences it seems like they are ok with LFL’s on the road side of the sidewalk, but not on the property side of the sidewalk. So I’m not sure what to do at this point. This seems like an easy thing for them to add to the criteria clarifications post though…
