Invalid Wayspot Removal

Our area has had a number of valid Wayspots removed by a disgrunted player upset that he was banned for submitting fake Wayspots at his home. Below is the information on the most recent Wayspot we noticed removed.

Wayspot Name: Historic Stevens School, 1889-1960
Address: 604 W Philadelphia St, York, PA 17401
GPS (approximate): 39.95878891570302, -76.74424795870974

This school was designed by a well-known regional architect, John A. Dempwolf, in 1889. The building has a very Romanesque feel and is quite unique in many of it’s features. The school is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places due to it’s age and history. The building is also included in a number of books covering the local and state architecture. The school closed in 1960 and the building has been used for a wide variety of purposes over the years. This building has not been a school for 64 years and it meets all the criteria for a valid wayspot.

The building was named and built in honor of Thaddeus Stevens, a famous politician, lawyer, and fierce opponent of slavery.

Please restore this historic building that has been a landmark in York for over 130 years.

Thank you for your time and assistance in restoring this notable wayspot!!!

Thaddeus Stevens was played by Tommy Lee Jones in the 2012 Spielberg movie Lincoln. Just putting that out there.
