Can this place be a good nomination? In my opinion yes, because it respects every single criteria:
Exploration: yes. it’s a good sidetrail where people walk around (i walk often here with my dog) and one of the only place inside the nature of this rural area.
Exercise: yes! This place is used by local people to stay fit and by athletes for competitive exercises (there’s a local gym near to it)
Socialize: yes, i go everytime with my dog here for a walk and meet other people with dogs too. At the end and on the way of this sidetrail there’re some benches where u can sit and socialize.
So, my final question is: if is this a good nomination, which photo is better? Here’s some example:
Sorry, but that location is not eligible under any criteria. It is a sidewalk. It is not a place that has the intended purpose of providing Exercise, Social gatherings or Exploration. Simply being a place where you can exercise or can be social is not sufficient.
Otherwise, every piece of sidewalk everywhere would be a wayspot.
@salixsorbus already covered your question so I will leave that part out.
Now the local gym is a eligible location, it is intended for excercise and can be a very good nomination. Maybe you could provide a few details about the gym?
Inside and outside the gym are already nominated and being accepted in the past. Inside of the gym is used of other activity like basketball and volley. Outside there’s a racetrack where athletes (especially running athletes) uses for warmup and other exercises. After that, they use this sidewalk for most of the time to track their performances. In addition, this sidewalk is used every year for regional and national running competition. You can consult this info here:
mhh, i dunno if it’s something unique/special as a nomination. It will be strange if this is eligible (it’s just a old sign imo) but the sidewalk (more characteristic and better for exploration) is not. Im pretty confused ahah.
Also, im pretty sure it will be rejected from reviewers here in italy
The issue is that nominations need a tangible anchor to tie the nomination down. With the sidewalk what makes any point along the sidewalk better than any other?
i don’t agree with this, because if im walking around the city without any nature place and find a place like this, i’ll be more interested exploring the sidewalk with trees with a suggestive look, than watch a single sign that says “900m on left u’ll be at that city and 63m on right u’ll be in the centre of this city”
those photos are just a little part of the entire street, which is impossible to do a single photo of that. In the same street there’s a red bench (against violence on women), infopoints and benches to rest and socialize. So, it’s worth to explore.
The issues we are bringing up are issues this will face in review. If it is the bench that makes this sidewalk worth exploring, then I would submit the bench. If there are infopoints, then I would submit the infopoints. Trainers will experience the same nature at a game location they will recognize having arrived at if this makes it into Pokemon Go.
