It's discouraging

I live in a small community in the rural area of a municipality in Brazil, and here, because it is poorly developed, there are few relevant places to be candidates for pokeparadas. The fact that there is no operator signal here, as it is MANDATORY to have a Wi-Fi signal, and not all neighbors will provide Wi-Fi. As an option, there is a school two markets and a construction store whose wifi is the easiest to get, the map shows that there is a church here but there is a lady’s house, and the snack bar that also appears on the map is also the house of a person who sells snacks, so I sent the school and a market as candidates for pokeparadas and they were rejected, I understand the reason, but the market is a place where people gather, unfortunately without ANY pokestop here I am limited to just capturing pokemon harming my development and anyone else who has pokemon go here in the community, I CONCLUDE THAT THIS GAME IS NOT FOR PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN SMALL COMMUNITIES LIKE THE ONE I LIVE IN, “oh but there is a waterfall, there is a river” right and how am I going to have a pokestop there if there is no carrier or wifi signal? I STRUGGLED TO GET TO THE LEVEL THAT CAN INDICATE LOCATIONS FOR POKESTOP AND I FEEL LIKE I’M GOING TO HAVE TO GIVE UP THE GAME BECAUSE OF THE LIMITATION

Welcome to the forum!

You have seen that Niantic has tried to help players there by importing some Wayspots, some that would really not be eligible if submitted by a player, in order to create a place to play. But If you have to have Wifi to play, it is going to be difficult to play there.

If you would like to leave a general location, some forum members are really good at having a look around on maps to make suggestions for potential Wayspots. But do remember to be careful about protecting your privacy.

It sounds like some of those game locations should be reported for removal if they are not the point of interest they are supposed to be and are on single family private residential property (SFPRP).

Depending on where in Brazil there might be some nice murals around, or places where people do physical activity like soccer or a gym? Or perhaps the hardware store has an area where people can sit? Local restaurants, cafes etc are also possibilities

so I put a school and a market as pokestop and they were rejected in these places it is possible to have wifi due to commerce and the school itself outside them simply there is no internet signal, depending only on the goodwill of the residents to hand over the wifi password willingly which we know is not a reality, I challenged the school’s pokestop but I have no hope that it will be approved. The market’s I can still challenge, there is another market and a construction material store, the place is deceiving because only the main road is paved and only a section of it, because the rest is all road

Red market
Green school
Blue building material

The school doesn’t even appear on the map because it’s new

Unfortunately wayspots are not allowed at schools for children

If you would like to post screenshots of the nomination you did for the market, we can see if you could make that work. In most cases, a market would be rejected under “Generic business” but there could be something special about a small one.

The is the red dot that is lowest on the map

It’s high school…

Okay I don’t see how those could meet criteria.

Are these churches in your screenshot actually there? I don’t see them as wayspots, and those are usually easy accepts.

The two churches on the map are residences, I can go there and take a picture tomorrow as proof, but there’s no wi-fi in that area

No need to prove anything to me. @wooperIooper is really good with maps, and I hope can find a suggestion or two for you!

At first glance here are some things that could be eligible. I can’t quite tell if any of the fields I screenshotted are sports fields? It seems like the bridge is quite a famous local landmark but I’d be worried about pedestrian access. Any official bathing spots could work if they are clearly marked, or something like a playground etc

Let me also link this post which has some great recommendations

This church is a teacher’s house and it’s closed off; the bridge doesn’t have Wi-Fi; anywhere far from shops depends on a neighbor sharing their Wi-Fi password because there’s no signal here.

I think this is the community instagram account, I tried to censor people’s faces. This gathering space seems like a great nomination and there does seem to be a soccer field! Also outdoor shrines would work

It’s interesting that a person lives there since this sign says it’s a community center? Is that common practice?

I’ii go to that location tomorrow to show that it’s closed, and as I said, any other place that isn’t a business doesn’t have internet, so how will the PokeStop?

How far does the wifi reach? You do not need to prove to me that it is closed, we are just trying to help you and if you say no, then don’t nominate it.

Is this area the school?

Are there any places that people go to exercise? Do any of the businesses with wifi have seating areas, murals or other pieces of art, or even just a small shrine? Does the bar I found have wifi?

Oh and what is this gazebo? Does it have wifi?

Yes, that’s the school. Its Wi-Fi only works in the front; it doesn’t work in the back. The commercial establishments have Wi-Fi, including this bar, but is a bar suitable to be a PokéStop? It’s a place where so many people drink. Snack bars are people’s homes. There used to be a bakery next to the market I sent a picture of, but it closed. The structure is still there. There are waterfalls, rivers, and a tree in an open area, but unfortunately none of them have internet.

I think anywhere away from the main street is dangerous. For example, on the map there’s a 3k diner, it’s a house where someone sells snacks, and at the end of last year there was a shooting there. There was also a kni fe fight near the bridge, even the community was named sangueiro due to the danger

It depends, is the bar only meant for adults or can children be there too?
