Looking to get others’ opinions on land acknowledgement plaques as potential waypoints.
Where I live, you can find Land Acknowledgement plaques in or around government buildings, colleges/universities, community centres, and some businesses. These plaques are meant to recognize the First Nations (aka. Indian) peoples who historically lived on the land before colonial settlement.
I’m on the fence about submitting these because I’m not sure how other wayfarers might interpret them in voting. I’d argue these plaques meet the Exploration requirement because they highlight the history of these areas they are in, similar to historical plaques. But I can also see people arguing they don’t provide historical information or value since many of them have similar phrasing and generic designs
