Less Showcases

Hey everyone.

This is really just a thought I’ve had for a bit, especially after Scopely’s acquisition last year (it’s about to be a year in a few weeks).
Am I the only one who’s noticed a rather sharp decline in how often Showcases happen, particularly around the time of the Fiscal New Year (late March, early April)?

I’m also considering the possibility that it’s just something happening here in South Africa as opposed to anywhere else. But essentially, there would be a Showcase at least twice a week & they would often coincide with other events happening in-game.
But now, they’ve not only whittled down in frequency to about once every 2 weeks on average, but the Showcases themselves are now for general typings like Flying, Bug, Ghost, etc., or for a very popular pokémon like the Pikachu evolutionary line for example. Whereas before they would be for a specific pokémon (again, usually tied to an event happening around the same time), in addition to the general typings I mentioned previously.

Has anybody else noticed this shift, or is it just me?

This is not related to Wayfarer, so this topic will most likely be closed. But yes, there was a change to Showcases with the Memories in Motion season. Now showcases are only on Tuesday as part of the Daily Discoveries, and only last from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time. And they feature categories, not specific Pokemon.
