Description Of The Evidence: In Game Gym Marker is Shifted Approximately 100 meters away from its original

Hello and welcome @JodX2604
This area is not for requesting location edits.

Does the photograph above have the wayspot in it, if so can you say exactly what it is please.
The focus appears to be what is in effect a roundabout, which is not a suitable location.
Can you also provide some more precise co ordinates

Hello @elijustrying,

My apologies for the confusion in my initial post text. To clarify, the Gym itself is indeed the large, prominent tree located inside the central roundabout at Thakur Village Circle.

I am not nominating a new roundabout; I am requesting a location correction for this existing in-game tree Gym (“Thakur Village Circle”). It is currently misplaced in the database by roughly 100 meters.

The original Google Street View screenshot I provided shows this specific central roundabout tree during the daytime, verifying its exact physical position at the intersection of Thakur Village Rd & Sai Star Rd.

The precise coordinates of this roundabout tree are: 19.2108, 72.8747.

That does not match to your streetview image, based on the aerial shots.

Can you please go to Niantic Wayfarer, find this wayspot and post the current wayspot coordinates.

Is this gym you are referring to

Currently at 19.214659,72.86889
And it appears to be at this location on Ingress which makes me think this has not moved?

Although not precisely located on the tree this does appear to be the correct junction.
There are steps up to the platform around the tree and from the photos there was once a cover.
I am unsure if this meets safety standards.

Edit to add
Having looked at it from a different angle which is from 4 months ago the standing area now seems to be planted and the steps gone.
So I do have concerns that in its current state this is not safe.

That’s an impressive distance away from the coordinates given by the op. It matches, since this roundabout is clearly located on Thakur Village Road.

It’s unfortunate that the circle is not safe for pedestrian access. The standing area has been replaced by planting.

Hello @salixsorbus

Yes, that is exactly the “Circle” Gym I am referring to! Thank you so much for finding the exact database records.

Regarding the safety concerns: while the old steps are gone and the immediate base of the tree is now a planted area, there is a wide, paved pedestrian sidewalk and a safe walking path directly lining the edges of this junction.

Players do not need to stand in the street or climb onto the planter to interact with the Gym. There is plenty of safe pedestrian standing room on the surrounding sidewalks directly within interaction range.

Since the junction has safe pedestrian access from the sides, I kindly request that the location be updated to its true coordinates rather than removing it. Thank you for your thorough review!

The rules in Wayfarer states that it must have safe pedestrian access to stand at the waypoint.

Wayfarer is not just used for Pokemon Go so being able to safely stand close enough to interact with the waypoint in that 1 game is not enough.

Hello @SlimboyFat71,

Thank you for pointing out the criteria. I completely understand the distinction for new nominations.

However, please note that this is not a new Wayspot submission being reviewed against current submission criteria. This is a location correction for an existing, live Wayspot (“Circle”) that is already approved and active in the database.

Currently, the pin is misplaced by roughly 100 meters, which makes the map data inaccurate for all Niantic games. Moving the pin to the true physical location of the tree simply corrects the database accuracy.

If the community feels the Wayspot no longer meets the safety criteria due to the platform changes, that would require a formal Invalid Wayspot Removal report. For this location edit thread, I am simply requesting that the pin accurately reflect where the actual real-world object stands.

I didn’t! That was @elijustrying, I just looked at the coordinates they found and agreed with what they had found.

It is already at the correct location, which was a long way from the coordinates you provided.

As already covered above, safe access at a distance away from a POI is not sufficient. You need safe access to the actual POI.

Hello,

It is important to note that the Google Street View imagery being referenced here is nearly 4 years outdated.

Since those older map photos were captured, the intersection infrastructure has been upgraded. There is now safe, dedicated pedestrian access directly at the location, completely reinforced with protective safety railings.

Because the current real-world state provides proper, safe pedestrian infrastructure right at the POI, updating the pin to its actual physical coordinates is entirely safe and accurate. Thank you!

The google street view imagery found by @elijustrying is from April 2026. That is from less than 4 months ago.

This imagery shows that safe pedestrian access to the circle has been removed and the raised standing area has been removed.

  1. Please know that attempting to move wayspot from its correct location is subject to abuse ladder system
  2. The wayspot is already in correct position

Hey @JodX2604 ,

I see that this Wayspot has already been removed for not adhering to our safety guidelines.

Best,
