Lost help chat ticket... again

I’m sorry this happened again but I lost my access to help chat ticket #40585494.

I was trying to ask about a ML-rejected title edit suggestion for the wayspot “Hand Statue”
49.197722,8.122175 from “hand statue” to the sculpture’s actual title "“Construisons Ensemble”. If possible could I get a response here or to the email linked to my account? Thank you

Hey @wooperIooper ,

I see that the support has requested you to reach out to the team using this webform.

Thanks,

Thank you! May I ask why this was not allowed to go into community voting?

That’s expected behavior. ML resolves a subset of the contributions.

So if submitted a few minutes earlier or later, this same edit may have been allowed into community review? Or if resubmitted?

There are many factors at play. We are unable to discuss the working mechanism of ML at this time.

I must say, it’s very disappointing that apparently the only thing the team can offer me is “hm tough luck, try using one of your precious appeals on this?”. I am fine using my appeals for community rejected wayspot submissions or even those that ML rejects. However, as someone who submits the maximum amount of wayspots each month, obviously I will not use one of the 4 appeals I get per month on a title edit. I’m trying to improve the map here. ML should not reject things just because she doesn’t understand them, as long as there isn’t anything overtly wrong with them.

I also do not really understand those first two sentences, there is no thread and it’s not a nomination. And I also did try to suggest an edit through pokemon go. I understand the need to use pre-written replies, but at least they should make sense

I wonder if the rejection could be overturned, as sometimes happens when we present evidence that an appeal rejection was wrong, if you offered the proof here that your edit is correct. I don’t know.

I suppose it doesn’t hurt to try

The sculpture’s actual title is “Construisons Ensemble”, which is French for “let’s build together” as this is supposed to commemorate the the relationship between Landau and its twin city Ribeauville.

This link in English confirms the name Landau in der Pfalz: History between France and Germany - Day Trips Around Karlsruhe but is from before the statue was moved to its current location.

This link confirms the location(in German) Ostpark (Landau) – Rhein-Neckar-Wiki.

This is a screenshot of the plaque attached to the sculpture which features its actual name

It’s also named that on OpenStreetMaps
