As I have seen on your other thread it does seem like you have had a tough time with your nominations but it does seem that it is mostly down to the mis-understanding of the criteria.
Highly suggest you read the links posted over there.
In regards to street signs, the majority should not be accepted but occasionally they can be for Artistic Merit or being Historic.
Unfortunately, some nominations are excepted in error and can be reported for removal, criteria has changed over time. This is why a common saying on the forums is “do not judge whether something is acceptable by what you see on the map”.
