My waypoint does not show up in game

I submitted a waypoint but not showing up in game. Please help. Details below:

Name: Mariners Residences Phase 1 Basketball Court
Location: 13.776199, 121.060215

Welcome to the forum!

This Wayspot is not eligible to appear in Pokemon Go because there is already a Pokestop (Mariners Residences Marker) in this outlined area (an L17 S2 cell).

I hope this topic helps explain:

Ahh
I see. I did not consider the the S2 cell thing at all. Is it possible to move it outside the cell of the Mariners Residences Marker? Just move it outside a little bit. It’s actually a basketball court/leisure mini park. Moving it a bit outside the occupied cell is still part of the court.

Here’s the satellite view from google map:

We don’t really like the existing pokestop because it’s located at the entrance to our neighborhood, where vehicles frequently pass by. This new pokestop would be a much better location since it’s where everyone in the community usually gathers and hangs out.

Can we still update the location to: 13°46’34.5"N 121°03’37.2"E instead? :man_bowing:

Once something has been approved, it should only be moved if the location is wrong.
For a small object ( like sign for example) if it is not on the object then it can be moved to be on the sign.
For a basketball moving it to somewhere else on the court to simply make it appear in game would be regarded as trying to manipulate the game board. This could then incur a sanction

However in this case it has been placed in the middle of the field of play, and as such goes against recommended placement.
You can use help chat to suggest a new location at the entrance or edge.
You suggest a point, but they decide.

We just moved here and this is the only best spot in our neighborhood. It’s our leisure park.

Welcome to the forums

This is blocked by Mariners Residences Marker (13.775745,121.060145), due to the pokestop density rules that Pokemon Go uses to choose which wayspots to add in once they have been accepted.

Understood. I get it now. Thank you. :man_bowing:

I think it will get used as a powerspot on rotation. There is another blocked wayspot nearby, but both are far enough away from the active pokestop to be valid. At least, I don’t think that powerspots can be blocked by other powerspots

Hopefully. At least, we could still do max battles there while we hang out at the park.

We don’t like the Mariners Residences Marker, since it’s the main entrance to our neighborhood and a bunch of cars/trucks go in there which are very annoying.

Fortunately, the interaction distance of 40m means that you can interact with a pokestop/gym from a considerable way away, so it should be possible to find somewhere you feel safe standing.

However, I notice that that neighbourhood sign (which doesn’t meet criteria, but that’s a different topic) is on the external boundary of the private residence behind it which appears to be single-family, meaning this sign is strictly not eligible. I’ve reported the pokestop so lets see if Scopely agree. If it gets removed, another wayspot in that cell (there are two) should become a pokestop.

I agree. It was probably created when there weren’t many houses around this place. I also reported it. Thank you so much!
