Can someone help me understand how it is not adhering to Wayfarer criteria. I put it in a Hairdress/babershop, which can be a place to be social with others.
I tried to follow the Wayfarer criteria, which is making me confused.
Paintings hung on walls like this often fail for being “temporary.” You need some way to prove that this is a permanent spot for this art. And that can be difficult. Murals can be painted over, but they are certainly more permanent than an unframed canvas that can be knocked off the wall by someone leaning on the wall.
You should also do your best to demonstrate that it is original artwork and not just some piece that can be purchased at a local home goods store. Sometimes stores display “corporate art” which means you can find copies just like it in other stores of the same chain. (This might not be a chain salon.)
I understand. I thought it would be interesting for a Wayspot.
Well, I guess you are right. I understand about this. Sorry about the wayspot. Since it is just a canvas at Moturoa shop, I took it back in 2021. I thought the wayspot would be interesting but I was wrong. I regret submitting it. I guess I will leave the wayspot as not accepted.
Don’t regret it, Wayfarer is a learning curve. Take it onboard and keep exploring for more.
There should be no risk if you are making what you believe are legitimate nominations but get rejected.
Warnings / Suspension should only received if you fake your nomination such as AI, Other peoples photos etc. The only other times is if you are told numerous times that it doesn’t meet criteria but you still insist on constantly re-submitting.
We have all made mistakes, my first nomination was a Bus Shelter, it’s made of stone which isn’t the usual so it seemed right at the time ![]()
Couple of comments I would add for this one…
Don’t think “can be” think “encourages”. You could be social in a Butchers but I would not nominate it, a cafe encourages people to be social.
Although I don’t think this breaks any rules but old photos should never be used unless you are 100% sure it still exists and new photos are evidence that it does.
Good Luck
Fair enough.
I thought we had a topic on the forum somewhere about people’s first wayspot, but i can’t find it. Almost everyone started with several wayspots that needed a lot of work. We give advice here because we have made the same mistakes - we know from experience.
Google search found this for me:
But it is about accepts.
