New to Wayspots

I’m fairly new to Wayspot contributions. The camping area I’m currently enjoying has loads of fun interesting sights. My biggest problem seems to be adding a well named representative crossroads sign that is permanently in place yet off the high vehicle traffic areas. These paved walkways are mostly for families. I’m finding it difficult to show the fun of the cartoon character sign and the “here is where a costumed character will appear” without getting children or families in my photos. My question - do include the top of the sign for the Wayspot and then whatever and whoever is in the secondary photo? I’ve no desire to intrude on others family time nor unintentionally publish photos of other families? Does anyone have any tip? Thanks. I will keep practicing until I get better. Any tips are appreciated. Yes I did read all of the published waypoint info. Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forums

People in supporting photo(s) is fine. Sometimes this helps a lot, e.g., showing that a cafe is popular.

There is the risk of reviewers rejecting because of people in the supporting photos, but this (when it happens) is wrong and can be appealed (unless those people are posed, looking into the camera, keep appearing in multiple submissions etc). The risk of this is small, but I am mentioning it just in case it happens.

People in the main photo should be avoided. Even incidental people in the background a long way away can result in a rejection.

Welcome to the forum!

It is hard for me to give advice on how to take a photo of something without seeing it, but this sounds like a good solution.

I agree with you for the most part. My only caveat is when people are posed or similar in the supporting photo. A nominator should be anonymous and things done even in the supporting photo(s) to signal reviewers is abuse.

I forgot about that sort of abuse and have edited my post accordingly.
