Niantic is getting the map properties wrong, what should I do?

Hey thanks for the help, o want to understand this right.

Here is the submission Niantic Wayfarer

The full story is that the proposal was rejected with these reasons:

  • The submission is on an education facility, primarily for children aged 18 and under
  • The submission is on private property which is not publicly accessible

Then I appealed explaining nor of those were actually true, you can see from the photos that is public accesible and explained that the space is not on the terrain of an educational facility, that people looking at it may be getting the map wrong.

There is an educational facility in the same block, but that is not covering the whole block, just half of it, and oposite to where in proposing the wayspot. There is actually two private buildings in the same block and the two properties have free and accesible green spaces like squares. But then niantic repsonse seems automatic and reaffirm that the nomination is on the property of a school which o know for a fact it’s not. Note below

Niantic Note

Thanks for the appeal, Wayfinder! The nomination is on the property of a school, which makes it ineligible. Hence, we are unable to reverse the decision. We recommend you review the Wayspot rejection criteria before submitting any more Wayspot contributions: Rejection Criteria — Wayfarer Help Center
Reading the link provided I see just this related:

  • Location is a private residential property (even if historical), farmland, a K12 and under school (preschool, primary/elementary, secondary/high school), child care/daycare center, rehabilitation center, safety shelter

My proposal doesn’t fit this, right? Or that mean the whole block of an educational facility is banned even if the educational facility is just one building of the block? I don’t get it

What should I do? Forget it and carry on?
Try a new proposal of the same place?

There is a way spot on the same educational facility facade discussed here, there are wayspot a block away from it too, I’m certain I have spin some poke stops on schools and on children’s playgrounds. So I really don’t get the rejection at all.

Can someone make sense to this?
Thanks

Welcome to the forum!

We can’t see your nomination through that link. You will need to share screenshots here for us to advise.

Sharing the location (preferably the gps coordinates) would also help us to see the situation.

Hello and welcome @djpeluca

It’s not always obvious where the best place is to post on this forum. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
Given what you describe I am moving this to Nomination Support where experienced wayfinder like to help in situations like this.

Thanks, yes I was in doubt about the link, I’ll upload screenshots and coordinates are (-34.9464278, -54.9404178)

Google map link Google Maps

So from the google map screenshots I kind of get that there are 3 different tags of the educational venue, and one of then is wrongly put on a building called Copacabana which also have it’s own Copacabana tag. And the spot I pointed is the green space at the end of the block after that Copacabana building. I guess looking directly at google map, that could be the misunderstanding, but still wrong, you can see a line of trees that separate the educational building from the other two apartment buildings there. The wrong tag is on the wrong side of those threes

Sure, thanks!
I was looking where to post and as it was already appealed I posted there.
But happy to be moved to the correct place!
Thanks again

Putting the eligibility of a sign on the “green space” aside Open Street Map does seem to dispute the “On School Property” rejection reason.

As far as I am aware the “Yellow Shading” are the boundaries of the school property???

Good Luck.

Yes! Exactly, that’s the correct limit, open street map got it right, thanks
