Look, the community is basically doing free office work for these waystop reviews. I think we should be allowed to apply to do it full time for pay.
Hi, welcome! I see this is your first time posting on the forums. It sounds like you’re really frustrated right now.
Those of us who spend time reviewing find value in the activity, whether it’s intrinsic (a sense of joy at seeing cool submissions, warm fuzzies at helping a remote bonus area fill their map, etc.) or extrinsic (the reward of numbers-go-up or upgrades for our own submissions). It’s an activity we choose to voluntarily spend time on, without monetary compensation.
If you aren’t someone who thinks the time spent is worth it, the easiest thing to do is…not review. No one is forcing you to participate. No one is demanding you engage with the Wayfarer program. And let’s be real, Niantic isn’t going to pay any of us while there are still people who choose, for any reason, to do this work for free.
At the end of the day, I hope you spend your time doing things that bring you joy or fulfill you in some way.
