Nomination acceptance appears to be completely arbitrary. I have submitted two nominations that met every criteria. Both rejected with no reason. I will not nominate a spot again.
Hello and welcome @tuttutillr
That sounds frustrating.
Can I ask if they rejected around 24 hours after submission? Did it say it was the automatic process?
If you would like to share the submissions here we can advise on best way forward.
Firstly, welcome to the community. There are a lot of people on these forums that can help you decipher why your nominations were rejected, how they can be improved (if possible) and if you are willing help find some nominationz that you could submit.
This isn’t supposed to be a job.
I would also like to welcome you to the forum. The rejection reason will be on your contribution, not in the email. Check here: https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/nominations
If you still don’t see the reason, refresh the page. If you still don’t after that, try logging out and back in.
Please do share screenshots of the rejected nomination. We might be able to help you fix it up for a resubmit, or explain why it is not eligible. Or maybe help you find something else to submit in the area that is more likely to be successful. Some nominations are harder than others.
This is not a job. This is a hobby the regulars here take seriously. It definitely has a learning curve for those who wish to be successful. If learning best practices does not interest you, you are not required to submit anything.
Thank you. It would be helpful if the email provided that information.

No. It isn’t a job. Niantic don’t have boots on the ground in evey city, town, village, floorboard around the world. If they did, games like Pogo would not be a free to play game.
We submit things for the community to benefit everyone and so that the games continue to remain free. Nominating stuff can be just as frustrating as it is rewarding.
If you don’t want our help, I will wish you well and I will focus on what matters.
I have no idea why they do it this way. The email only tells you if a rejection was a community or a “team” decision. The “team” decision can either be the “automated process”, which is a machine learning model that checks nominations at around 24 hours after they have been submitted, or by in-house review by staff. The automated process cannot accept, but it can reject. At least the email does give you a link to the contributions page.

Good advice from everyone. Sorry to have started a negative conversation.
Rejections sting. My favorite thing here is when we can help turn a frustrated submitter into a successful one.
Have to say that your group seem like the nicest kind of people!
