Not getting it

I really don’t get it and I’m frustrated! All my points are next to a sidewalk. The bus stop… why got it rejected? It’s next to a VERY large side walk (the red part is the side walk!)
The playground, next to a side walk. It’s open, it’s public, it’s for playing. I don’t get it.

Help me out here. I’ve put 10 in, and they ALL get rejected

Please provide:

  • A screenshot of your nomination, including rejection reasons if it has already been rejected
  • Include the title, description, both photos, and supplemental information
  • Copy and paste the title, description and supplemental so others can translate them
  • If you feel comfortable please share the location, as it is helpful (i.e. hidden duplicates), but you can mask it if you wish.

Welcome to the forums

A wayspot needs to be safely accessible. This an essential requirement but it is not sufficient. A wayspot must also meet criteria for Social, Exercise or Exploration.

That’s the basic problem you have. You are submitting things which meet the accessibility requirement but not the criteria.

That last photo is tilted. Regardless of anything else, that is a reason for rejection. You can see the rejection reasons on your wayfarer page at Niantic Wayfarer

Hi, I would recommend to read the criteria again. Being a safe, accessible location, is not enough to be accepted.

Bus stops are usually just generic infrastructure and therefore not acceptable since they don’t fulfill exploration, excercise or socialsing criteria.

The playground could potentially work but not with a photo where the playground makes the least amount of the photo, and is also very tilted.

You can read the criteria here:
Niantic Wayfarer - for potential eligibility
Niantic Wayfarer - for being actually acceptable
Niantic Wayfarer - for what is not allowed

For the first nomination, Bus shelters are generally not eligible. Regarding the second nomination (53.176634,7.292552). If this is the same playground set, it would be deemed a duplicate.

If you have other submissions where you don’t understand why they were rejected, please post details, but preferable only one in each posting otherwise it gets hard to provide clear answers.

If you are looking for something to submit, have a look at this.

and…

I see little poles of nottingness to be a pokestop. But a bus stop can’t? I’m flabbergasted.
And the playground is not in pokemon go. Whe doesn’t the rejection say it’s a duplicate and used in another Niantic game?

But also a fire station has been rejected, a bridge, a communitycenter. I’m fed up with the way it goes. It makes me so frustrated. There’s not much in this area and I can’t add anything. Oh, but the cross in another area in town did get approved while being on private property.. but the bird nest collection I uploaded, got rejected.

Yeak, no… it’s seems te be unfair

I got lot’s. All rejected. Seems like it’s what people want/don’t want you to have.

Bus stop are infrastructure. Regarding the “poles of nottingness”, I don’t know what that is, so can’t comment. The playground I posted may or may not be the same playground you have submitted, but it’s the one that looks like the one you submitted.

Fire Stations are Emergency Services, so are illegible. A Bridge, without context, I can’t comment. The Community Centre, without seeing the nomination I can’t comment.

People don’t go and exercise at a fast food restaurant? They get approved.
People don’t go exercise at a pole in the middle of nowhere. They get approved, don’t they?
People don’t go to a busy shoppingstreet… but you guessed it… got approved too

Okay, the playground was rejected by the automated review. It is a good candidate, however, your picture was not great. I suggest to take a better picture, and submit it again.

A fire station is not allowed, so don’t submit that one again.

A bridge is almost never eligible, only if it is a pedestrian bridge, so bridges for cars are not eligible)

A single busstop is not eligible.

The community centre however is eligible, you consider to appeal this one.

Restaurants are places to socialise. It meets one of the 3 main criterias. It goes down to how it was presented to the reviewer.

A wayspot has to meet only one of the criteria, so it either has to be a great place to exercise OR socialize OR explore.

I’m Dutch, but living in Germany.

Acceptance Criteria

Nominations and edit submissions must meet all of the following acceptance criteria:

  1. Must meet at least one of the three eligibility criteria
  • A great place for exploration
  • A great place for exercise
  • A great place to be social with others
  1. Must be a permanent physical, tangible, and identifiable place or object, or object that placemarks an area
  2. Must be safe and publicly accessible by pedestrians (indoor or outdoor)
  3. Must contain accurate information in the title, description, and photo

I agree that this can be confusing since it says “must meet all” at the top, but it only has to meet one of the Eligibility criteria. I would not be surprised if translations make it even less clear.

Thnx for the explanation.

My feeling is that whatever I upload, it’s never gonna be good enough. And I don’t get it about the remark about the fire station. Almost every weekend there are community days there. Children can learn and be a fireman themselves and many more nice joyfull learning activities.

I see that my bench (other upload) is being ‘judged’ right now. When this one fails… I’m going to scream.

“Obstructs emergency services” is a reason to reject.

It doesn’t.

If you can prove that in your nomination, then it might be considered. It is very difficult to prove that a Wayspot at a Fire Station would not obstruct emergency services.

If you believe that your nomination should not have been rejected, then you can appeal. An appeal will be looked at by a Niantic employee. We have 2 appeals, each on a 15 day counter before we can use them again. I would not appeal a fire station rejection.
