A post on Pokemon GO’s social media is making claims to the effect that Pokestops can exist on the grounds of a private residence (see below), despite this being a clear violation of the rejection criteria. Hopefully they quickly correct this mistake before PoGO players begin acting on this harmful misinformation and submitting Wayspot nominations at their houses. More so than usual, I mean.
If they were advertising a max battle event, this would be accurate
since power spots are more commonly on SFPRP than anywhere else in some areas!
There are rules about proper adverts and they are not supposed to represent the product falsely. L’Oreal have to back up what they’re saying, even if its stating 75% of 50 people said the product was good.
Wayfarer and Pokemon Go shouldn’t be represented using a picture of a pokestop at someone’s private home.
I assumed that it would be obvious that I was being jokey with my comments but obvious someone was upset by it so I will leave it hidden…
I wasn’t upset, just think Niantic should do better with their marketing. I work in marketing by the way. I just think its sad that they didnt have any oversight to check if this was a good image to represent the brand
I was making a point by using humour, I assumed that it was obvious from my examples. Advertisers will also show the product in the best light (check out the Big Mac images in McDonalds against what you actually receive).
I assumed it was my 3rd example that had the post reported and hidden.
If you are saying that it was just because I stated that “Adverts Lie” then surely the correct response would have been to reply stating the case.
